We are at the business end of the season with two deadlines remaining before the end of the season. GW37 being a double gameweek has made the penultimate gameweek of the season exciting, A lot of managers have been looking for some punts for the last two Gameweeks of the season to gain ranks. With that in mind, in this article, we discuss our Top Differential Picks for FPL GW37 based on stats and upcoming fixtures.

FPL GW37 Differential Picks (<10% ownership)

Romero vs Man City(H), Burnley(H), £5.1m, TSB: 10%

Let’s start with a surprising stat, Romero has the most goals amongst Defenders this premier league season(5 goals).

Romero’s stats since GW30 amongst defenders:

• 3 big chances(Highest amongst defenders)
• xG of 1.18(2nd highest amongst defenders)
• xGI of 1.6(3rd highest amongst defenders).

Romero has Man City, Burnley, and Sheffield United coming up in DGW37 and GW38. Although the Man City games isn’t promising, the other two games are very promising from a clean sheet and attacking returns perspective for Romero.

Burnley have conceded 103 headed goal attempts which is the 2nd most this season, and Sheffield United have conceded 111 headed goal attempts which is the most this season. Burnley’s set play xGC conceded of 15.1 is also the 2nd worst in the league this season.

If you’re looking for a differential defender option to replace Maguire/Schar ahead of DGW37 then Romero could be a great option!

Rodrigo Hernandez vs Fulham(A), Spurs(A), £5.6m, TSB: 6.0%

Sounds like a boring pick with no haul potential for the 3rd City slot? Probably not for someone who has more Double Digit Hauls than his teammates Haaland and Foden. Only Palmer(10), Salah(9), and Saka(9) have more FPL Double Digit Hauls than Rodri(8) in the league this season. In the second half of the season alone, Rodri has 6 Double Digit hauls with only Saka(7) and Palmer(7) having more. Fun Fact: Rodri has 31 appearances in the Premier League this season and Man City have not lost any of these games. He is one of the most nailed picks in the City team and with the title still not wrapped up, Rodri can be a good differential pick!

Marc Cucurella vs Nottingham Forest(A), Brighton(A), £4.8m, TSB: 2.9%

Marc Cucurella has started and played 90 minutes in each of Chelsea’s last nine Premier League matches. He is the only Blues defender to do so. Therefore, if you are looking to bring in a defender from the West London team, it is a no brainer to pick the former Brighton man. Cucurella has registered 2 assists and 3 bonus points in the aforementioned time period.

• Arsenal -42
• Man City -56
• Nottingham Forest – 68
• Chelsea -72

Chelsea have statistically been one of the best sides defensively this season. That is also starting to reflect in their clean sheets in recent weeks. The Blues have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 5 matches. To put that in context, they had kept 4 shut outs in the first 30 matches of the season.

Bruno Guimarães vs Brighton(H), Man Utd(A), £5.8m, TSB: 3.1%

Bruno G offers a great alternative to Anthony Gordon as he is £0.6 cheaper than Gordon. Besides, the Brazilian has been in top form in recent weeks, registering 3 goals and an assist in the last five matches.

• Bruno G – 92
• Gordon -92
• Schar -69

Conor Gallagher vs Forest(A), Brighton(A), £5.4m, TSB: 1.5%

Conor Gallagher has been a surprise package in recent weeks having returned in his last 3 matches with 2 goals, 1 assist, and 23 FPL points. In the second half of the season, Only Palmer(150) has more FPL Points among Chelsea players than Gallagher(74)

Gallagher in the last 3 matches for Chelsea:

• GW36- Goal, 8 points vs West Ham
• DGW35- Goal, Assist, 15 points vs Tottenham, Villa

In fact, He has returned in 5 out of the last 7 matches for Chelsea in the league. Gallagher also has 4 more Big Chance Involvements over the last 4 matches- 2 Big Chances and 2 Big Chances created along with a decent xGI of 1.20.

Chelsea’s attack have really improved over the last few weeks with 9 goals from the last 3 matches including the 5-0 demolition vs West Ham. If you are looking to break away from the template GW37 team and catch up ranks in mini-leagues, Gallagher is a great Differential shout.
