Welcome back to another captaincy metrics blog, The popular FPL Gameweek 37 captain picks include Haaland, Son, Foden, Palmer, and Isak. Haaland who topped our captaincy metrics last week scored four goals vs Wolves in GW36, Palmer picked up only a goal in a 5-0 win, Isak is in red-hot form and Son was amongst the goals as well vs Liverpool. Let’s see who amongst the five players tops the captaincy metrics this week, will it be Haaland or someone else?

FPL GW37 Captaincy poll ~ Wisdom Of the Crowd
Haaland takes the top spot in the captaincy poll with a whopping 66% of the votes after scoring four goals in GW36 vs Wolves.
Palmer who picked up a goal in the 5-0 win over West Ham(H) in GW36 is 2nd in the captaincy poll this week ahead of facing Forest(A) and Brighton(A).
Isak who is in red hot form takes the 3Rd spot in the captaincy poll this week ahead of facing Brighton(H) & Man United(A).
Son is the 4th option Foden is the 2nd Man City attacker in the top five of the captaincy poll this week ahead of facing Wolves at home. Saka completes the top five of the captaincy metrics.

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 37 Captain picks
Palmer is top of the table with an xG of 6.70 in the last six games, Palmer has also had 14 shots inside the box and 8 big chances. The Chelsea attacker also has created 19 chances in the last six games which is the highest amongst the five players in comparison.
Isak is 2nd ahead of Haaland registering an xG of 6.11 in the last six games along with 11 big chances, and 19 goal attempts in the box.
Haaland who picked up four goals last gameweek is third with an xG of 6.11, he has also registered 21 shots inside the box, and 11 big chances.
Foden is only 4th with four big chances in the last six games and an xG of 2.46.
Son is last with an xG of 1.66 in the last six games. The Spurs attacker has created 13 chances and has registered 8 goal attempts in the box

Underlying Numbers of the Candidate’s Teams
Man City have registered an xG of 15.66 during the last six games and take up the top spot. They have had 92 shots inside the box and 24 big chances which is also the highest amongst the five teams in the table.
Newcastle are 3rd in the table with an xG of 13.30. The Magpies have also registered 73 goal attempts in the box and had 22 big chances in the last six games.
Chelsea are 4th in the table with an xG of 13.07. Poch’s team have also registered 56 shots inside the box and 22 big chances in the last six games.
Spurs are 5th with an xG of only 8.59 and have had 13 big chances in the last six games along with just 51 goal attempts in the box.

Fixture Difficulty of the candidate team in FPL GW37
In the Third Phase of the Article, we look at the Fixture Difficulty of our 5 Candidates.
We will use DraftHound’s odds for a Team scoring at least one goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of Scoring more than 2.0 goals in the Gameweek as a whole.
Man City are top with a 99.28% odds of at least 1 goal in the double gameweek and a 79.84% odds of scoring 2+ goals in FPL DGW37.
Spurs have a 97.83% odds of at least 1 goal in the gameweek and a 64.3% odds of scoring 2+ goals over the two games this week taking the joint 3rd spot.
Newcastle have 98.3% odds of at least 1 goal in the gameweek and a 64.12% odds of scoring 2+ goals this week sharing the joint 3rd spot along with Spurs
Chelsea are 5th in the table and have 96.94% odds of at least 1 goal in the gameweek and a 52.39% odds of scoring 2+ goals in FPL DGW37.

Projections Rank of our FPL Gameweek 37 Captain Picks
In the Fourth Phase of the article, I have used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points Tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.
Haaland is top of the projection rank table with an anytime returns projection of 92% and a 15.5 points projection in FPL Gameweek 37 vs Fulham(A), Spurs(A)
Son takes the 2nd spot with an anytime returns projection of 84% and a 13.1 points projection ahead of DGW37
Isak takes the 3rd spot with an anytime returns projection of 83% and a points projection of 12.3
Foden takes the 4th spot having an anytime returns projection of 80% and a points projection of 11.8
Palmer takes the last spot with the Newcastle United forward having an anytime returns projection of 80% and a points projection of 10.9

Conclusion – Final Rank from our FPL Gameweek 37 Captaincy metrics
In the Fifth and Final Phase of the article, I have aggregated the Ranks derived above to pull out the Cumulative Rank Factor (CRF). The Candidate having the lowest Cumulative Rank Factor is the most ideal Captaincy Option according to this metric.
Haaland comfortably takes the top spot with a cumulative rank factor(CRF) of 6. Teammate Foden is 2nd with a CRF of 10. Isak takes the 3rd spot with a CRF of 11, Palmer and Son are joint 4th with a CRF of 15.
