FPL GW35 Wildcard Guide
Understanding the Upcoming Double Gameweeks:
- Two teams will double in GW35 – Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur
- Six teams will double in GW37 – Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Man City, Man United, Newcastle United, Brighton
GW35 vs GW36 Wildcard
GW35 Wildcard:
If your team is not set well for GW35 with no Newcastle assets(Newcastle are at home in GW35 vs Sheffield) and no assets from Spurs/Chelsea other than Palmer then Wildcard in GW35 is the best option as you can target the mini double in GW35 and also plan ahead for bench boost in GW37.
GW36 Wildcard:
If your team is well set for GW35 and already includes one or two assets from Newcastle, Chelsea(Other than Palmer), and Spurs, you can delay playing your Wildcard by one week and play in it GW36 ahead of bench boosting to avoid any injury issues. Liverpool also play West Ham in GW35 who just shipped five goals vs Crystal Palace, delaying the wildcard could enable you to retain Liverpool attackers for GW35.
Pros of GW35 Wildcard:
- Plan to get 15 Double Gameweek players for the Gameweek 37 Bench Boost and 6 players for DGW35 with Spurs and Chelsea doubling.
- You can get in players with low ownership players and high upside who also have a Double Gameweek- De Bruyne, Gordon, Bruno Fernandes, Isak, etc
Cons of GW35 Wildcard:
- GW35 Wildcard Drafts are likely to be without Arsenal Defense, Salah and Saka. They are all proven and high ownership players. There could be huge rank drops if they haul
- Spurs and Chelsea assets(apart from Palmer) have not been consistent this season. With 2 DGWs incoming for Spurs and Chelsea, Wildcard Teams are likely to have triple ups from these teams.
Players to Target on FPL GW35 Wildcard:
Goalkeepers: Onana, Vicario, Ederson, Petrovic, Verbruggen*(Not 100% nailed, but has started the last six games) and Dubrakva*(Pope might come back soon)
Defenders: Disasi, Gvardiol, Gusto, Trippier(If fit), Burn, Schar, Dalot, Maguire, Porro, Romero, and Arsenal defenders(Saliba, Gabriel and White – Good options in spite of them not doubling)
Midfielders: Son, Johnson, Palmer, Gordon, Foden, De Bruyne, Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes, Saka/Havertz(Good options in spite of them not doubling)
Forwards: Isak, Haaland, Hojlund, Watkins(Good option in spite of Aston Villa not doubling), Nicolas Jackson
FPL GW35 Wildcard Drafts
FPL GW35 Wildcard Draft 1
- Draft with six doublers for mini double GW35 – Porro, Vicario, Son, Palmer, Jackson, Gusto
- Note: The draft was made before the Gusto injury news and it looks like Gusto won’t be available for the Villa game as per the latest injury report(04/26) released by Chelsea as seen below
- If you’re not confident about Gusto(Fitness/Injury concerns) then you go for Disasi who is nailed to start
- Defensive double-up on Spurs assets, if you’re not too keen on a double-up you can play Onana in GW35 in place of Vicario. Note: There’s a small injury concern over Porro and Udogie is already ruled out of the season.
- Isak and Gordon are in red-hot form and are up against Sheffield United at home. Gordon is a beast in home games registering 121 of his 158 pts in home games(Only Palmer(123 pts) has more points in home games)
- Son and Palmer need very little explanation, both have two double gameweeks in the next four games and are definite locks in any wildcard draft
- KDB over Foden is an interesting decision, with no UCL distractions KDB should be guaranteed to play regularly in the remaining PL games as Man City look to maintain their lead in the top of the table
- Jackson will divide opinion, but it comes down to the number of fixtures, Jackson has started the last eight PL games and continues to be backed heavily by Pochettinho. The Blues forward has 3 goals and 2 assists in the last six PL games.
- In the last six games, Isak is the highest-scoring forward with 7 goals and an assist and his xGI of 6.3 is the 2nd highest amongst all players and highest amongst all forwards.
- Haaland is Haaland and there’s no need to justify his selection, another lock in any FPL GW35 Wildcard draft!
- The bench compromises of Onana, Dalot, Schar, and Garnacho in preparation for bench boost in DGW37. Man United’s defence is not great but Onana offers points through saves as well, the Man United GK has made 123 saves so far this season which is the 2nd most amongst all GKs only behind Kaminski(132)
- Dalot offers decent potential for attacking returns and is a guaranteed starter, If you’re not keen on a double-up you can also pick one of the Arsenal defenders(Saliba/White/Gabriel)

- Draft including Bruno and Foden, Bruno has registered 50 points in the last six games(5 goals + assists). He has had five big chances and has also created four big chances during the period.
- Foden missed out on a few PL games due to the UCL games vs Real Madrid, but now that City is out of UCL the focus should be primarily on winning the League and Foden should play regularly.
