FPL GW10 Sunday fixtures proved to be a roller coaster ride for FPL managers with Raphinha scoring but Antonio missed out on a haul in spite of West ham scoring four goals. The hammers forward made the pre assist on two of the occasion. Here in this blog, we review the stats and key numbers from FPL GW10 sunday fixtures that caught our eye.

FPL GW10 Sunday Fixture wise Review
Norwich (0.75) 1 – 2 (0.94) Leeds United
The first game on Sunday saw two teams that haven’t yet hit got into gear with the kind of performances they’d like to produce, so far this season. Leeds have struggled with injuries and just haven’t hit the heights of their impressive first season back in the Premier League while Norwich are in desperate need of some results sooner rather than later to boost their chances of survival this season. With Bamford still out, Leeds lined up in their two-striker-opponent formation of 3-3-3-1. Rapinha was passed fit to start and Rodrigo and James, it seemed, were rotating and sharing the striker and number 10 role. Neither side were particularly good on the day but Leeds got the better in a 3 goal flurry, Tim Krul culpable for allowing a very saveable winner from Rodrigo to beat him.
Key player Stat Review
Raphinha (6.6, MID) kept up his pattern of looking dangerous nearly every time he plays. The Brazilian had 5 shots, 3 from inside the box, 2 chances created and 7 penalty box touches, highest in the game for each of these stats. He managed an xGI of 0.50 shared evenly between xG and xA and managed a solid 9-pointer in a rough gameweek for managers.
Dan James (6.0, MID) is interesting because I’d think his minutes become a doubt as soon as Bamford returns but he did play as the most advanced Leeds player for long periods of this game on his way to a game high xGI of 0.62 courtesy 1 shot, taken in the box which was a big chance where he went around Krul only for Hanley to clear his finish from a tough angle, off the line. He also created 1 chance.
In a game without too much else of note, Milot Rashica (5.2, MID) produced some prominent underlying numbers. The summer signing racked up an xGI of 0.52 made up of an xG of 0.33, he had 5 shots, 2 in the box and created 2 chances.

Aston Villa (0.75) 1 – 4 (2.64) West Ham
A game of two teams who’ve had contrasting starts to the Premier League season. Aston Villa seemed like they had meticulously planned for the replacement of talismanic captain Jack Grealish by bringing in 3 new players but they’ve struggled to find the right formation and system to accommodate their best players. They’re currently on a run of poor performances and surely manager Dean Smith will have started to feel the pressure of ambitious owners at an ambitious football club.
West Ham, on the other hand, have started to pick up consistency of performances akin to long stretches of last season after a slightly stop-start early campaign and are beginning to look like a side that could make a serious push for a top 4 spot. Villa were without the injured Danny Ings and Douglas Luiz (covid), Mings was dropped to the bench as they rolled out a 4-3-3 system. West Ham played their usual 4-2-3-1 with Ben Johnson continuing to deputise for Coufal who wasn’t deemed fully fit quite yet. West Ham led by 2 goals to 1 courtesy two incredible finishes from Johnson and then Rice before a VAR double-red card check led to Konsa being sent off making it comfortable for the Hammers. Two Antonio pre-assists for 2 goals after the red meant West Ham picked up an impressive victory at Villa Park.

Key Player Stat Review
Pablo Fornals (6.0, MID) continues to tick along nicely. A 0.77 xGI for him made up of an xG of 0.73 mainly from his close range goal which was a ‘big chance’ and his only shot in the game, taken in the box to supplement the 2 chances he created.
Michail Antonio (8.2, FWD) has been unlucky to points-dodge in recent games and this was no different. He did work the channels for most of the game hampering his touches close to goal a bit but he still managed an xG of 0.20 and an xGI of 0.44 from 2 shots, both in the box and 1 chance created, a ‘big chance’. He delivered the pre-assist for the final 2 goals and was rather unlucky to come away with nothing giving owners a decision to make ahead of a testing schedule of 5 games.
Ollie Watkins (7.3, FWD) benefited from the absence of Danny Ings in this game resulting in him playing central and closer to goal. Villa were hampered by going down to 10 men around the hour mark and the creative Buendia was sacrificed at that point of the game but Watkins still got a healthy 0.46 xGI made up entirely of xG resulting from 2 shots, both in the box and a ‘big chance’ coming his way.
Quick mentions for Aaron Cresswell (5.5, DEF) with 2 chances created and 1 shot from outside the box and Soucek (5.8, MID) with 3 shots, 2 from inside the box who might become interesting options as a second or third West Ham player in 6 weeks time when their fixtures turn for the better.
