When I thought of FPL Planning Tools and my next subject for review @PremierFPLTools logically came up. Premier Fantasy Tools have so many features that they cover most categories. Planning, Live Score, Post Season data collection, etc. etc. Enjoy!
When you enter their site I recommend creating an account. In that way, you have your FPL Team ID handy and your data are saved. They don’t require your FPL login as some other sites so you don’t give up any secrets 😉
Planning on Premier Fantasy Tools
My first focus is on planning, and therefore the FPL Team Planner, that you enter from the menu on the left.
You can enter all players manually. Or you can enter your team ID and download your squad from the latest game week.
You are then presented with PremierFPLTools ranking of difficulty (FDR) on a 1-20 scale, where 1 is really easy and 20 is blood red for a reason.
Please note how the rating changes for defensive vs. offensive players. For my next 3 GWs, I plan to have both Jimenez and two Wolves defenders. The FDR for WOL Defenders for GW5 is (2) but for Jimenez, it is (6).
You also select your bench players and once that is done you get an average difficulty for your team. Including and excluding benched players. As a rule of thumb, I would say that a rating for fielded players below 10 is pretty good. I will play my Premiums no matter the rating of opponents so that I take into account.
“Transfers” are done by simply clicking the player you want to replace and you type in the name of the player you are looking for. Straight forward really.
My take on the FPL Team Planner
I really like the little twist of expanding the FDR rating from the classic 2-5 range to a scale of 20. As can be seen from my team above it is easy to navigate the fixtures so I don’t run into ‘trouble’. The tool is easy to use and totally free IF you don’t mind the adds 🙂 You can get rid of those for 1 GBP pr. month, as I recall it.
Once you have made a team you like, you can copy it to future game weeks. One-click and you are good to go. Enjoy!
More on Planning from Premier FPL Tools
Besides the Team Planner, you also have access to a Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR) Tool. As with the team planner it is split for Defence and Offense. And you can choose a simple or detailed view.
A thing I really like about it is that I can change the order of the teams so I have MY players in focus. As you can see in the inserted picture. Here I have taken my GK/DEF and put on top and then my MID as they get 1 point as well. Finally, my attackers as they can free up defensive duties vs. easier opponents. Looks OK I think – now let’s see if I can get any CS’s.
Bench and Transfer Recommendations on Premier Fantasy Tools
On top of the features mentioned above, you also get recommendations for Transfers and who to bench. I don’t use these myself as I believe my playing style differs from this and many other tools, so I am more a fan of the strict data that comes with the Team Planner.
(That being said, my playing style is not always successful)
Planning Conclusion on Premier Fantasy Tools
Overall you find a lot of good stuff when you visit premierfantasytools.com, I like both the FDR analysis and the Team Planner and use them regularly.
Live Score / Live Rank on Premier Fantasy Tools
I think it was last year that Premier Fantasy Tools came with their Live score section called “Live FPL Rank”. It is a simple interface giving you a very precise prediction on the actually expected rank. For my team, they have been within 50 OR’s from where I end up and that is very good. Probably an understatement of dimensions.
Personally, I mostly follow my leagues and therefore use other tools as well – but sometimes they crash under pressure and then I go here again.
FPL Team Analyzer on Premier Fantasy Tools:
This is one of my favorite features on this website. A one-stop-shop for info on your team. And also for you as manager over the years. Where I find this exceptionally useful is at the end of the season because you can download your full performance.
As a FPL Manager you get everything:
- Captain Analysis
- Team Value Analysis
- Formation Analysis
- Position Analysis
- Bench Analysis
- Player Analysis
and more!
It saves a lot of time if you are interested in knowing how many points did I score in the various formations?
I have premium mids – I know that! But I have also MID bench fodder and even then my MIDs have contributed with 138 points in the first 4 GWs – way more than the other slackers I have in my team! Maybe time for action here.
Last year I started making my own full spreadsheet of all the players I had owned over the season until I found this and just scrapped my own as all the data is available for download. Super service.
My take on the Analyzer
I really recommend that you go in and check your team. The cold reveals made by data can hurt or spark joy – but it’s facts. Use it to learn from it!
And make sure that you set your alarm clock for GW38 so you remember to download your full season!
And more…
Season Captain Picks Analysis on FPL Fantasy Tools
It is also at Premier Fantasy Tools that you find your Captain Picks Analyzer. If you are on Twitter you have probably seen posts of this – and even though you could do it yourself by scrolling through past Game Weeks – this just feels better. Please ignore GW3 from the screenshot below 😉
Besides what is mentioned above you find tools for mini-leagues, chip usage and you can get your All-time rank in FPL. In other words – the guys at Premier FPL Tool are giving us a gold mine of stuff to play around with. I for one appreciate it!
The Premier Fantasy Tools App on Android and Ios:
