I’ve been invited here on AllAboutFPL to share my view on some of all the tools available to us FPL managers. It is really amazing all the content that is out there for us to use directly instead of building spreadsheet after spreadsheet and trying to keep up with fixture changes, injuries, price changes, and bans. Just mention a few.
My focus is on the free web sites or at least the free parts of websites offering FPL Tools for managers.
As we are in the middle of a (pointless) International Break my first focus will naturally be on planning.
When planning your lineup it is sometimes beneficial to look further ahead than just the next game week. Even though I have been victim to over planning and overthinking I still find it healthy to look ahead at least for the next 3-4 fixtures. This way I don’t end up with 5 defenders playing the top-6 or having blank fixtures.
For the above we have a plethora of sites and services.
FPL Tool on a plug-in?
The first I will bring the attention to is probably the most simple one and provided by @fpltoolschrome. As the Chrome part indicates it’s a plug-in for Chrome and it baffles me that @officialFPL haven’t teamed up here or themselves provided at least the basic service of showing next 5 fixtures under the player name.
Basic functionality of FPL Tools Chrome:
Beneath the player names you have some very handy info; You have the next opponent (as in the official site). In the next line you have points during the last 5 games followed by the next 5 fixtures. To many red fields should raise the red flag and get you thinking on how to plan the transfers. Blanks are marked with black btw.
From a planning perspective this plug in also adds a small recommendation section in top of the screen. This feature is provided by FPL Genius.
Additional features on FPL Tools Chrome:
Of course any recommendation is up to us managers to follow or ignore. I for one ignored TC in GW1 for Salah as it was to early to play…well those 20 points would have been handy now.
This plug-in also adds info when doing transfers plus some recommendations. Those I personally ignore as I like to make my own mistakes so the main advantage is having the upcoming fixtures for the players I consider.
The last nice feature is in the league overview where you by using the little (+) can see the players in your opponents team real fast. Check the last screenshot below.
All in all I find this plug-in very useful. As an Iphone user I can’t use it on my phone but to my understanding it works fine. If you use it on a smartphone, please leave a comment with your experience.
