When Pep put Aguero on the bench, much to the agony of his 23.6% owned managers, We can very well say that- “FPL is well and truly back”. The unpredictability is what makes FPL more exciting and fun. Villa and Sheffield played out the first game from mid-march to a goalless draw. Manchester City did what they do best, routing the hopeless Arsenal(courtesy Luiz) to a 3-0 win. Southampton got off to a great start courtesy Ings and Amstrong. United and Spurs played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in the first big game after the break. Check out this blog to know key FPL takeaways from these games so far in FPL GW30+.
1. Aston Villa 0-0 Sheffield United
5 Points from Aston Villa vs Sheffield United
1. We have a new 4.0 mil defender in FPL, in Jack Robinson. The former Liverpool defender bagged 8 points including two bonus points but is expected to make way for Jack O’Connell who is expected to be back for the Newcastle game.
2. Dean Henderson was by far the best player on the pitch, he came up with 6 saves and secured three bonus points. But beware managers Deano misses out against Manchester United in GW31+ as he is ineligible to play.
3. Aston Villa kept their first clean sheet in 2020. A very solid defensive performance barring that freak goal which wasn’t given.
4. Keinan Davis, who surprisingly started ahead of samatta in FPL GW30+ had more shots on goal than any other player. Davis alone registered 5 shots on goal, that’s the same as what Sheffield United entire 11 managed in the game.
5. And Lastly, Sheffield United‘s defense is a gift that keeps on giving, a dream night for all those who tripled up on their defense.
2. Manchester City 3-0 Arsenal
5 Points from Manchester City vs Arsenal
1. Saka(4.7) started in the wings for Arsenal much to the delight of his 5.3% owned managers.
2. Sterling(11.7) got his first goal in 2020 – Returning points for the first time since GW19 against Wolves. The city attacker registered three shots on goal, made 5 key passes, and scored a goal.
3. Xhaka(5.1), Mari(4.8) were injured in the 1st half and withdrawn Leno(5.0) continued his old form making 9 saves to deny City attackers.
4. KDB, Silva, Mahrez, Laporte were all withdrawn early suggesting they all could start against Burnley.
5. There is still hope for Aguero owners- Aguero came on in the 79th minute for Jesus registered three shots on goal, only KDB and sterling had more and also hit the woodwork before getting the assist for Foden’s goal.
3. Norwich 0-3 Southampton
5 Points from Norwich vs Southampton
1. After scoring just 1 goal in the last 6 games prior to the break, Danny Ings is back with a bang. Ings registered a goal and an assist to punish the 500k managers who transferred him out ahead of GW30+.
2. After conceding just 7 goals in last 7 games, Norwich looked extremely shaky defensively
3. Stuart Armstrong also registered a goal and an assist for Saints. That’s now 4 goals in his last 7 starts
4. Nathan Redmond has looked by far the sharpest player to play among those who’ve played in the opening 3 games
5. Next up for Saints is Arsenal, can’t wait for Ings to take on Mustafi and co, don’t hesitate to bring him into your wildcard teams
4. Tottenham 1-1 Manchester United
5 Points from Tottenham vs Manchester United:
1. David De Gea(5.3)has conceded 2 goals in the last 6 matches keeping 4 CS. Incidentally, both goals conceded were due to goalkeeping mistakes ( vs Everton was the previous one)
2. Bergwijn(7.4) has scored 3 goals in the league. Against City, Wolves, and United. Definitely, one to look out for the big games.
3. Bruno(8.6) registered 5 shots on goal (three on target), made two key passes, and created two chances vs spurs. Bruno has been involved in 3 goals and 3 assists in 6 games already, returning in all but 1 and is also on penalties for United.
4. United defense one to look out for. Bar some GK errors, they’ve maintained a lot of CS of recent and have some easy fixtures coming up.
5. Manchester United have received 11 penalties so far and 4 more than the team in 2nd.
