FPL GW6 Wildcard Guide
Pros & Cons of Wildcarding in FPL GW6:
Pros:
- Move off underperforming & rotation risk assets like Isak, Jota, Gordon, Hall, Muniz, Burn, etc whose fixtures are not good.
- Easily get premium assets like Saka, Foden, Arsenal defence, etc in your team.
- Target teams & players with good fixtures like Brentford(Mbeumo, Flekken), Arsenal(Saka, Saliba, Havertz, Raya), Aston Villa(Watkins, Rogers, Konsa) Bournemouth(Semenyo)
- Avoid your team value to decrease a lot early in the season by catching up with Price changes.
Cons:
- Five Gameweeks is still a small sample space to arrive at conclusions
- Removing Salah on Wildcard can backfire as he still has two good games coming up vs Wolves and Palace.
- If you don’t have a lot of injury issues/Assets with low xMins then you can use your FTs to target Arsenal assets/Mbeumo and then wildcard later.
- There’s an international break right after GW7.
- GW7/GW8 Wildcard is also a shout with more clarity on certain assets like Van den Berg, Moreno, and Mykolenko. Also helps you to hold to Salah/TAA for the next weeks
- With 5 Free Transfers to roll this season and Rolled Transfers continuing even after Wildcard, it is totally team-dependent if you want to Wildcard now or manage with Free Transfers and Wildcard later.

FPL GW6 Wildcard Drafts
We have made 6 Drafts in this article and to structure it better, we have Two Premium Attackers(Haaland and Saka) in the first 3 drafts. And Three Premium attackers(Haaland+ Saka+ Salah/Palmer/Son) in the next 3 drafts. Go through these Drafts and decide for yourself which draft you like the most!
FPL GW6 Wildcard Draft 1
- Draft with Arsenal double defence along with Saka + Haaland(The only two players to have not blanked so far this season)
- Arsenal are sensational from set piece & it’s a no-brainer to go with Gabriel. Raya has been crucial for Arsenal & has made some sensational saves, he’s got 6 bonus points in 5 games & has made 23 saves which is the 3rd highest amongst all GKs so far this season.
- The rest of the defence consists of two premium defenders in Robertson & Gvardiol along with enablers in Aina & Greaves.
- Teams with the lowest xGC conceded so far this season:
- Man City – 3.65
- Liverpool – 3.89
- Nottingham Forest – 3.98
- The midfield consists of Saka who hasn’t blanked so far this season(1 goal & 5 assists), although he’s not been explosive so far he’s still a must-have for the excellent fixture run ahead for Arsenal.
- Amongst midfielders priced 7.5 million & below, Mbeumo is the joint highest-scoring midfielder with 4 goals & 33 points in 5 games which are impressive numbers considering Brentford faced Spurs, Liverpool & Man City in their first five games. Brentford have the easiest attacking fixtures from GW6-10 & the Brentford talisman is a no-brainer option.
- Liverpool’s attack has been simply unstoppable & it’s difficult to go without a Liverpool attacker, Luis Diaz is the highest-scoring midfielder in FPL with 5 goals and an assist in the opening 5 games outscoring Salah by two points. Salah ofcourse has penalties but we feel Diaz could cover Liverpool’s attack & also enable us to go for other premiums.
- Amongst all players priced below 7.5 Million, Semenyo has the highest xGI(3.0) & shots(24). Bournemouth are an attacking team and are 5th highest amongst all teams for xG(8.71) so far this season. Semenyo could go big in their next two games against two promoted teams(Southampton & Leicester). Leicester & Southampton are 4th & 5th for most shots conceded so far this season.
Top Players for Expected Goal Involvement- <7.0 million
- Tyler Dibling at 4.5 Million is our eighth attacker in this draft & he could be an excellent enabler having scored his first PL goal in GW5 vs Ipswich.
- The forward line consists of Haaland, Wood & Solanke. Starting with Haaland who is a no-brainer at this point.
- Chris Wood has been a silent hero with 3 goals from 5 games so far with blanks only against Liverpool and Southampton. He is in fact the 4th Highest scoring Forward in the game. All the 3 times he has scored this season, Wood has got 3,3 and 2 Bonus respectively. He is surely one of the Best Budget assets in the game right now.
- Solanke returned to form with a goal in GW5 vs Brentford and with decent fixtures(for attackers) coming up, he is a good route into Spurs attack. It is a tossup between Solanke and Jackson for the 7.5 Million Forward slot. While Jackson has been on fire this season with 4 goals, and 2 assists this season, Solanke only has one goal to show up for. But it is to be noted that Solanke has missed 2 matches due to injury. And his underlying numbers are also decent. So it’s a really close call.

FPL GW6 Wildcard Draft 2
- Another Draft with 2 Premiums- Haaland and Saka. The draft also has 3 Good Premiums defenders from the three best defenses in the league- Robertson, Gvardiol, and Saliba.
- Havertz takes his place as the 3rd Arsenal asset. Even though Arsenal are strong defensively there is a good reason to double up on attack over defence for the upcoming 3 games where they are expected to win comfortably and score more goals. Despite a blank vs City in GW5(Arsenal were 10 men for the second half), Havertz is a good attacking option who already has 2 goals, and 1 assist from the first 4 games.
- If you feel Luis Diaz is a minutes risk, Jarod Bowen is another alternative shout who should get going with a better fixture coming up. He is also now on corners after Ward-Prowse has left. Maddison is also another option to consider in the price bracket. Barnes is also a decent option to consider despite the difficult fixtures.
- Davis is a placeholder for 4.5 Defender. You can also go for Konsa/Forest Defender/Mykolenko, etc..

FPL GW6 Wildcard Draft 3
- This Draft has Gabriel+ Saliba considering Arsenal’s amazing set-piece threat as seen below. Both Gabriel and Saliba are the target men in set pieces and Arsenal are really good at attacking them.
- Trent Alexander Arnold also adds up to this squad as the Third Premium Defender- who is always capable of attacking returns. TAA is Ranked Top among Defenders for xA, Chances created, Big Chances created, and xGI.
- Watkins is also another addition to this Draft after scoring 3 goals in the last 2 matches. The game with Ipswich is an excellent entry point to get him in. The only drawback with Watkins is that his minutes may be managed with Villa playing in UCL and Duran also showing he is more than capable of filling up his boots. This is the reason why Watkins is not mostly mentioned in other drafts. With a tempting fixture in GW6, you can perhaps pick him to chase the upside and then take it forward from there.

FPL GW6 Wildcard Draft 4
- Draft with 3 Premium attackers- Haaland + Saka+ Palmer.
- There is a case to go with Palmer as the third premium as he will not be involved in the midweek conference league games as announced by the club.
- There is good depth in this team but the main con is the lack of very reliable defense options.
- Raul Jimenez(5.4) acts as the Striker enabler in this draft with 2 goals from the last 2 matches and taking up the forward slot from Muniz. He is very likely to be on penalties as well.
Note: Van den Berg is mentioned as a 4.0 Million enabler in this draft as he has started the last 2 matches. However, it is to be noted that Brentford played back 5 in the previous 2 games as it was tougher games vs Man City and Tottenham. It remains to be seen if Brentford persists with a back 5 in easier games or if he will be able to get a spot if Brentford switch to a back 4.

FPL GW6 Wildcard Draft 5
- Another Three Premium Attacker Draft but with a dummy 4.5 striker. The key with Three-Premium attackers is that there are good budget options available to make up for the rest of the squad and it also makes it easier to bring in Salah/Palmer later in the season if needed.
- As good as a pick Palmer is right now, He can be an even more devastating pick from GW12 for this fixture run.

FPL GW6 Wildcard Draft 6
- Last but not the least, The Three Premium Attacker Draft with Haaland + Saka and the FPL King Mo Salah.
- Just a gentle reminder that Salah has 3 goals, and 4 assists from 5 games this season and has Wolves and Palace in the next 2 fixtures which are still excellent games for Salah. So he is not an easy drop on Wildcard in our opinion. However, the counterargument is that 2.0 saved my going for Son/Palmer/Saka can be used elsewhere to stabilize your team. If you go with this draft, You can pick Salah and then again maybe re-assess after 2 weeks.
- The main con of this draft with that it leaves a weak bench – Two 4.0 Million Defenders and a non-starting 4.5 forward. However, if you can swap Robertson for Konate, you can build a decent bench by upgrading one of the 4.0 million defenders.
