We will be continuing our FPL Forwards analysis by exploring the Best Mid-priced forwards in the (6 – 8 Million price range). There are some interesting options in this Category who often get ignored as FPL Managers pick either the Premium Forwards or go for the Cheap ones to save money. Just look at Isak and Solanke who finished in the Top 5 Forwards last season and were part of this Category. We will be having 2 Articles for you to go through all of the Forwards in this Category.

Best 6.0 Million FPL Mid Priced Forwards
There are 8 Forwards who belong to this Category. Let us go through their prospects below
Rodrigo Muniz (Fulham)
Fixtures
Pros
The Early Fixtures (2 Promoted Teams in the First 3 Games and only 2 Games against Last Season’s Top 8 Teams in the First 6 Games). Likely to benefit from the BPS changes with 27 Shots on Target from only 1597 minutes last season. Fulham are ranked 2nd on the Fixture Ticker of FFHub based on attack for the 1st 6 Gameweeks.
Cons
Not sure if he is nailed to take Penalties (Armstrong & Pedro at cheaper prices are). Could become a Rotation worry with Jimenez in the background and if he does not start the season well. Also, how will Fulham function without their best player Palhinha, who has now left for Bayern?
Stats from last season:
- Played – 26 Games (8 Subs) and 1597 Minutes
- Goals – 9 from an xG of 8.76
- Assists – 2 from an xA of 0.94
- FPL Points – 97
Pre-Season Update:
- Muniz- ⚽A (Won a penalty, Lukic took it)-> Further Read: Pre-Season Summary of All 20 Premier League Teams
- Muniz got solid minutes in the pre-season- Involved in at least 4 off these games.
Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest)
Fixtures
Pros:
The 2nd Best Forward in this Category and a man who was transformed under Nuno last season was FPL Community Favorite Chris Wood. A Bonus Magnet when he scores (got 22 last season), the new BPS change will benefit him even further. Forest have the best 3 Opening Fixtures as they are the only Team who do not face any of the Last Season’s Top 8 Teams in this period. He could get off to a flyer. Had an incredible 1.30 Shots on Target per 90 minutes.
Cons:
The rotation with Awoniyi is always a concern. Also Callum Hudson Odoi & Gibbs White in the Midfield Bracket are alternative options (CHO is cheaper and had a brilliant finish to the season and Gibbs White has penalties & set pieces). Not on Penalties also.
Stats from last season:
- Played – 31 Games (11 Subs) and 1806 Minutes
- Goals – 14 from an xG of 11.71
- Assists – 1 from an xA of 0.92
- FPL Points – 131
Pre-Season form:
- Wood – ⚽⚽⚽AA
- Wood had an excellent pre-season and got 3 goals, 2 assists with good minutes across 5 games- 45, 45, 45, 64, 72. Awoniyi in turn got only18 and 13 minutes in the last 2 friendly games which makes it clear that Wood will be starting as the season as Awoniyi will continue to come off the bench building up fitness.

The Backup Strikers –
- Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest) – Same old problem for Awoniyi who could not manage to stay fit for most of last season. Played only 1047 minutes last season and scored 6 Goals and had 3 Assists. Eventually got replaced by Chris Wood. He is also missing from Forest’s Pre season camp due to some family issues/a recurring groin problem. Looks to be an avoid at the beginning of the season with Wood expected to lead the line for Forest.
- Eddie Nketiah (Arsenal) – Same problem for Nketiah who managed to get only 1073 minutes last season. Scored 5 Goals (a Hat-trick against Sheffield United) and provided 4 Assists. He is now third choice behind Havertz and Jesus in the Forward line which suggests his time at Arsenal could be up. A move to Marseille is on the table.
- Jhon Duran (Aston Villa) – A move away from Villa Park looks likely this summer and West Ham could be the ones to benefit. With limited gametime last season, since his move to Villa (461 minutes played and 5 Goals scored and 1 Assist provided) he is a wait-and-watch in my opinion.

The Bees from Brentford – Yoanne Wissa & Thiago –
Wissa
Fixtures
Pros:
Established himself in the team in the absence of Toney quite well and finished with 12 Goals and 4 Assists in 34 Games. With Toney expected to leave Wissa could again be part of the Front 3 this season with Mbeumo & Thiago. Did take a Penalty in a Pre-season friendly (but Mbeumo was not on the pitch)
Cons:
A Tough start to the season with Liverpool, Spurs, and City in the 1st 6 Games. Competition with Thiago as the Central Striker could push him to the wing or bench. The Fall Guy in Frank’s 3-5-2 Formation with Mbeumo & Thiago the Front 2.
Stats from last season:
- Played – 34 Games (5 Subs) and 2508 Minutes
- Goals – 12 from an xG of 10.54
- Assists – 4 from an xG of 1.82
- FPL Points – 131
Pre-Season Update:
- Wissa – ⚽⚽
- Wissa got good minutes in the pre-season games- 45, 66, 90, 90, 45. With Thiago ruled out, he will certainly be a started for Brentford. (Further Read: Pre-Season Summary of All 20 Premier League Teams)

Thiago
Pros:
The new guy on the block is a unit. At 6 ft, 2 inches Thiago is a physical presence up top who has a strong aerial presence and can link up the play quite well. Seems familiar, yes indeed. Same as Toney. Had a brilliant goal-conversion rate of 31.4 percent last season.
Cons:
Loves a card. Has picked up 23 yellow cards and a red card over the last 2 seasons. Also suffered a meniscus injury in Brentford’s first pre-season friendly (ruled out till DEcember) after scoring a brace in that game.
Wissa could be viable option when Brentford play none of the Top 7 teams from Gameweeks 6-13.

Dominic Calvert Lewin (Everton)
Fixtures
Pros:
Some nice fixtures to begin the Season. A Massive Threat from set pieces (Everton scored the 2nd most Goals from set pieces, excluding penalties, last season). DCL is also on Penalties.
Cons:
Sean Dyche teams are not known for scoring too many Goals and DCL had a reputation last year of missing big chances for fun (Scored only 7 Goals from 21 Big Chances). Horrible injury record too.
Stats from last season:
- Played – 32 Games (6 Subs) and 2185 Minutes
- Goals – 7 from an xG of 12.86
- Assists – 3 from an xG of 1.58
- FPL Points – 101
Pre-Season Update:
- DCL⚽⚽A
- DCL got good minutes in the pre-season games- 45, 60, 59, 72, 80 minutes across 5 games.

Best 6.5 Million FPL Mid Priced Forwards
We only have 2 Players who are priced at 6.5 million. Out of which we can all agree that Romelu Lukaku will not be playing any part for Chelsea this season. He is linked to rejoin Antonio Conte at Napoli this season.
Hence moving to the other Exciting Forward in this Category who will likely come to our thinking from Gameweek 9.
Matheus Cunha (Wolves)
Fixtures
Pros: Matheus Cunha finally lived up to his hype which made Atletico Madrid pay all that money for him some years back. That hat-trick against Chelsea was the jewel at the tip of the crown. Gary O’Neil’s attacking football has transformed Wolves as a team and with creative players like Neto, Sarabia and Hwang with him, expect Cunha to possibly have another great season. Provided 7 Assists for his team-mates too. Brilliant attacking stats with 38 Shots on Target and 28 Key Passes. The new BPS change should really help Cunha gain more bonus.
Cons: Horrible fixtures till Gameweek 8 where Wolves play 6 of last Season’s Top 8 Teams. (only Man United and Spurs are not part of that run). Best to come back to Cunha after Gameweek 8.
Stats from last season:
- Played – 32 Games (3 Subs) and 2453 Minutes
- Goals – 12 from an xG of 9.49
- Assists – 7 from an xA of 2.97
- FPL Points – 135
Pre-Season update:
- Cunha – ⚽⚽
- Cunha played 45, 60 and 30 minutes in the first 3 games of pre-season. Cunha was injured during the pre-season tour to the USA & has been ruled out of the rest of the pre-season. He’s expected to be fit for GW1. Watch out for more updates. (Further Read: Pre-Season Summary of All 20 Premier League Teams)

Best 7 Million FPL Mid-Priced Forwards
We have 5 Players who are priced at 7 million and all of them have some caveats to begin the season with. Let’s have a look at each of them below.
Richarlison (Spurs)
Pros – Playing for an All-Out Attack Spurs team under Ange, Richy also scored 11 Goals (same as Alvarez) in 1000 less minutes. When on form, Richy is one of the Best players to watch. 2 brilliant fixtures to begin the season with. A Richarlison to Watkins transfer in Gameweek 3 looks a popular move.
Fixtures
Cons – Currently not training because of his recovery from last season’s injury. Also, there has been talk of Spurs possibly buying another Striker/Attacking player (Toney). Lots of rotation is expected with Johnson/Werner/Kulu fighting for 2 spots up top (Son is nailed). Not the best Forward to pick up Bonus points (got only 7 last season)
Stats from last season:
- Played – 28 Games (10 Subs) and 1492 Minutes
- Goals – 11 from an xG of 9.49
- Assists – 4 from an xA of 1.52
- FPL Points – 122

Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal)
Fixtures
Pros – If he starts as Arsenal’s Number 9, he could have a brilliant start to the campaign like he had in 2022-23. An all-round player with multiple avenues to points. Jesus got 7 Assists even in a very poor last season by his standards.
Cons – The questions are, can Jesus stay fit and can he play regular minutes as a Forward after Havertz’s breakthrough season as Arsenal’s Main striker. There are also strong rumors of one of Jesus/Nketiah being sold by Arsenal. Arsenal’s 1st few fixtures are okay but nothing spectacular. Not the most prolific Goalscorer. Keep an eye on Pre-season minutes if you want to punt on Jesus.
Stats from last season:
- Played – 27 Games (10 Subs) and 1482 Minutes
- Goals – 4 from an xG of 6.27
- Assists – 7 from an xA of 3.26
- FPL Points – 85
Pre-Season update:
- Jesus – ⚽⚽⚽A
- Jesus had a full-preseason with Arsenal. Minutes played: 60, 27, 71, 78, 45, 26 across 6 games

The Manchester United Young Guns
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee
Rasmus Hojlund
Fixtures:
Pros – The Young Dane had a decent season for Man United last year where he managed to get 10 Goals and a couple of Assists. He had a brilliant streak where he scored for fun but there was a frustration when the wide players did not provide him with too many opportunities for more Goals. Man United have a decent start to the season where they only face a strong defensive unit in Liverpool in the 1st 6 Games.
Cons – Rotation with Zirkzee is a big concern this season. Pre-season minutes will help us to know if these 2 can play together, but I would expect both to rotate depending on their form and the need against specific opposition. Hojlund will be aiming to raise his consistency this season and help Man United have a much better finish than last year.
Update: Hojlund played 16 minutes in pre-season, scored a goal, got injured and is now ruled out for 6 weeks with a hamstring injury.
Stats from last season:
- Played – 30 Games (5 Subs) and 2169 Minutes
- Goals – 10 from an xG of 6.97
- Assists – 2 from an xA of 0.96
- FPL Points – 112

Joshua Zirkzee
United bringing in a Young Forward from the Serie A for the 2nd season running, sounds familiar, doesn’t it?. Young Zirkzee who was previously with Bayern (before moving to Bologna) had a breakthrough season for Bologna (helping them to qualify got the Champions League) with 11 Goals and 4 Assists.
A Multi-dimensional player who can play the role of a Finisher or a Playmaker and has brilliant dribbling ability (his previous coach Thiago Motta saw some bits of Ronaldinho in Zirkzee’s playstyle). Zirkzee is more of a False nine (similar to Havertz) but his progressive passing and brilliant ball-carrying abilities will help Man United play the Ajax style of football if Ten Hag wants to.

The Walking Wounded – Callum Wilson (Newcastle) –
Fixtures
Pros:
When he plays he scores goals. He got 9 Goals in only 9 starts and 985 minutes last season. Likely to be on penalties even if Isak is on the pitch. A favorite of Eddie Howe’s so could sneak into the team in some capacity.
Cons:
Already confirmed out for the beginning of the season with a back operation required. Also with only 12 months left on his contract, Newcastle may even opt to release him for some money instead of losing him for free next season. Even if Wilson stays, Isak has firmly established as the Focal point of Newcastle’s attack and will start most games in place of Wilson, even when Wilson is fit.
Stats from last season:
- Played – 20 Games (11 Subs) and 985 Minutes
- Goals – 9 from an xG of 8.96
- Assists – 1 from an xA of 0.54
- FPL Points – 69
My Top 3 Ranking in the 6 to 7 Mid Priced Forward Category for the beginning of the season are –
- Rodrigo Muniz
- Chris Wood
- Richarlison (if fit)
We will be back with the Mid-Priced Forward Part 2 Article (7.5 – 8 Million) very soon.
