2024/25 FPL Season – New Changes

1. Five Free Transfers

2024/25 FPL Launch - FIVE FREE TRANSFERS

Up until now, you’ve only been able to bank two free transfers. Well, if you want to be patient and plan ahead, you can now accumulate up to FIVE free transfers. On top of that, when you play the Wildcard and Free Hit chips, your saved transfers will no longer reset to zero. So you can now save five free transfers, then play any of your chips and immediately have five free transfers to use in the following Gameweek. You’ve always been able to keep two free transfers when playing the Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips, so there’s no real change there – except that you can now bank the extra three free transfers as well!

This season the PL will not clash with the FA Cup Quarterfinals which means the traditionally big blank gameweek will not happen(Last time GW29 clashed with the FA Cup QFs & only 4 fixtures happened resulting in the worst gameweek in FPL history)

However, PL fixtures will still clash with the FA Cup semi-finals in GW34 & the midweek before GW34 is a free one meaning there could be a scenario of a double gameweek 33 which will then potentially be followed by a blank gameweek 34. One can use Free hit to target the doubles in GW33 & use the banked(3-5 free transfers) after free hit to eliminate blanking players for players with a fixture in GW34.

Initial Thoughts on Rolling up to 5 Free Transfers:

  • Rewards Long-term planning & Strategy – Good for Engaged Managers
  • Some managers can log in once in 3-4 weeks and still not lose much – Good for Casual Managers.

Win. Win. @OfficialFPL got it spot on with that move
