Five Must-Own Players in your FPL Gameweek 6 Wildcard Team
Haaland (14.3m)

Haaland is a no-brainer when it comes to players you must own while using your Wildcard. The Norwegian has continued his relentless goalscoring form this season and tops the FPL leaderboard with 46 points scored so far.
Between GW6 and GW15, Haaland has six easy fixtures against Burnley, Brentford, Everton, Leeds, Fulham, and Sunderland. While Manchester City do face some harder teams like Aston Villa, Newcastle, Bournemouth, and a major fixture against Liverpool, Haaland will step up and find the net in these big games too, if recent history has taught us anything.
However, at a high premium of 14.3 million, non-owners will have to make some major squad changes to come up with the funds required to transfer him in. Managers who own Salah (14.5m) should consider replacing him with Haaland. Salah is far behind Haaland in the FPL leaderboard, with 30 points to his name, and Liverpool have a tougher run of fixtures ahead, including games against Chelsea, Man United, Villa, Palace, and City.

Riccardo Calafiori (5.7m)/Arsenal Defence

Arsenal have been one of, if not the most, defensively sound teams in the Premier League in the last few seasons. Arteta’s men have conceded the least number of goals amongst any team last season (34) and during the 2023-24 campaign (29).
This term, they continue to boast a great record so far, tied with Crystal Palace at just 2 goals conceded in their first five games. While the Gunners have some of the best center-backs in Saliba and Gabriel, from an FPL perspective, it could be more beneficial to choose a full-back, with a higher chance of goal involvement.
Both Timber and Calafiori are great full-backs who have each scored 35 points in total so far. However, with Saka back in the mix after recovering from his hamstring injury, Calafiori may have more opportunities on the ball on the left flank compared to Timber on the right.
Calafiori is slightly cheaper than Timber (5.8m) as well, although it should be noted that Timber has registered a higher form so far at 8.8 compared to Calafiori’s 5.5.
On the flipside, choosing Gabriel or Saliba could be a more reliable choice for managers, with Arsenal’s hectic schedule including UCL fixtures coming up. Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ben White may provide competition as they offer Arteta a chance to rotate and rest his full-backs, while Saliba/Gabriel have a lower chance of being rested or replaced by Cristhian Mosquera.
So managers, choose carefully amongst Arsenal’s defenders if you use your Wildcard ahead of GW6.
Marcos Senesi (4.7m)

Senesi has been in superb form this season at the heart of Andoni Iraola’s defense at Bournemouth. At just 4.7m, Senesi is an excellent budget pick that managers should own if they use their Wildcard.
He has scored the fourth most points (37) among players from all positions so far this season and has consistently defcon points in his first five games. Senesi has registered the highest defcon total of any defender this season at 66.
Senesi DEFCON Stats:
- GW1 vs LIV(A) – 15
- GW2 vs WOL(H) – 14
- GW3 vs TOT(A) – 14
- GW4 vs BHA(H) – 12
- GW5 vs NEW(H) – 11
Joao Pedro (7.8m)

Joao Pedro seems to have settled well into life at Chelsea this season. The 60 million-pound summer signing has registered the highest goals and assists (5) for Chelsea so far this term. And with Palmer now sidelined for the foreseeable future with a long-term groin injury, Pedro is likely to step up as Maresca’s primary attacker, goalscorer, and chance creator for this season.
He has completely outperformed his xGI of 1.7 and has racked up 8 bonus points as well so far this term. Pedro is expected to score some major points for the club in their upcoming fixtures, especially between GW8 and GW12, where he faces Forest, Sunderland, Wolves, and Burnley.

At 7.8m, Joao Pedro is a great semi-premium striker option to pair with Haaland in your FPL team.
Antoine Semenyo (7.7m)

Semenyo has arguably been the best-performing player in FPL so far this season, especially given his price. The midfielder is behind Haaland with the second-most points scored at 41. At just 7.8m, it makes no sense for non-owners not to have him in their team.
He has heavily outperformed his xGI of 3.1, having scored three goals and provided two assists so far this season. Semenyo has registered a PPG of 8.2 in his first five games as well. Bournemouth’s upcoming four-game run against Leeds, Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest could see Semenyo pick up a high number of points, offering an immediate return for managers who transfer him in this week.
Anton Stach (5.0m)

Leeds United’s Anton Stach is an excellent budget midfield option who has been in good form and has a favorable run of fixtures ahead of him. He had an excellent outing against Wolves last weekend, grabbing a goal and an assist, making 15 defensive contributions, and scoring 15 points as well.
Stach has scored 29 points this season, some of the highest among midfielders in his price range. He has registered an ICT of 33.8, and at just 1% TSB, he is a very good differential pick for team managers. As a budget differential, Stach could provide a great opportunity for managers to earn points that the majority of their rivals are missing out on, especially with Stach’s upcoming fixtures between GW6 and GW12 (see below).

Five Close to Must Own Players in your FPL Gameweek 6 Wildcard Team
James Tarkowski (5.5m)

Tarkowski is the second-highest behind Senesi in defensive contributions this season, with 61 defcon, scoring 2 points consistently in each of his five games so far. However, he is available only at a premium price of 5.5m, as compared to Senesi’s 4.7m price tag, making him a player managers should consider as an alternative when using their Wildcard this week.
Viktor Gyokeres (9.0m)

Gyokeres has hit the ground running fairly well after his high-profile move to the Emirates this summer, scoring three goals in five starts. However, he has failed to find the net in their big games against Liverpool, Man United, and Man City so far.
But it is important to mention Arsenal’s upcoming run of fixtures and their lack of big games, including opponents like West Ham, Fulham, Burnley, and Sunderland – all games which provide great scoring opportunities for Gyokeres. At a premium price of 9.0m, Gyokeres may not be a must-own player, but he’s definitely a great option to consider.
Tijjani Reijnders (5.6m)

Reijnders is another budget midfield option who could offer an immediate ROI, with Man City’s upcoming fixtures against Burnley, Brentford, and Everton. He could step up with some more points in attack on the back of an impressive display against Arsenal last weekend, where he bagged an assist and 9 points.
Joachim Andersen (4.5m)

After a poor start to the season with just 2 points against Brighton in Fulham’s opening game, Andersen has consistently made defensive contributions, scoring a total of 21 points in his subsequent 4 fixtures. Although Fulham do have some tough fixtures ahead of them, for just 4.5m, managers can consider bringing Andersen in as a good backup who can bring in some points through defcon.
Martin Dubravka (4.0m)

Dubravka is an excellent backup keeper choice for FPL managers. The Burnley shot-stopper has scored the highest points (17) in his budget price range. He can offer a great chance to rotate your main goalkeeper when he has tougher fixtures.
Dubravka has consistently scored points either through saves or through clean sheets so far this season, making him a very good alternative to consider.
Dubravka Saves Stats:

- GW1 vs TOT(A) – 3
- GW2 vs SUN(H) – 0 (but he maintained a Clean Sheet)
- GW3 vs MUN(A) – 5
- GW4 vs LIV(H) – 3
- GW5 vs NFO(H) – 7
