We are now at the final 4 GWs for this season. Liverpool has already won the league. However, there are still sufficient gains to be made in FPL, with the right picks. In this FPL GW35 article (our first ever for AllAboutFPL), we look at the top picks for each position for the final 4 GWs.

FPL GW35 Players to Target for the Final Four Weeks(35-38)
Let’s start with the fixtures.

I have updated the FDR ratings based on goals for (for defenders) and goals against (for attackers). This is a good indicator to check FDR, specifically for attacking and defensive assets.
Target teams for attacking assets (priority highest to lowest):
- Brentford: They play rotated Man United, IPS, FUL, and WOL
- Nottingham Forest: CRY, LEI, WHU, and CHE
- West Ham: They play rotated TOT and Man United, followed by NFO and IPS in the last 2
- Man City: Good next 2 fixtures, WOL and SOU before BOU and FUL to finish (could also potentially double in 36)
- Aston Villa: Face MUN and TOT in consecutive weeks on either side of the UEL final (which could potentially be between those 2 sides)
- Others: Palace, Everton, Leicester, Ipswich, and Spurs
Similarly, target teams for defensive assets (priority highest to lowest):
- Nottingham Forest: CRY, LEI, WHU, and CHE
- Brentford: MUN, IPS, FUL, WOL
- Everton: They play 2 of the relegated teams IPS and SOU, along with FUL and NEW, in the last 4 GWs
- Man City: WOL, SOU, BOU, FUL
- Others: Villa, Ipswich, Leicester, Southampton, Spurs, WHU
Now that we have the fixtures, let’s look at the target players for each position. Let’s start with the defensive assets.
FPL GW35 to GW38 Players to Target – Goal Keepers & Defenders:
1. Matz Sels

- NFO is top of the fixture ticker for defensive assets
- Highest scoring GK this season by points, 141 points
- Nottingham Forest have the second highest clean sheet% this season, 39%
2. Pickford
- Everton is the 3rd best on the fixture ticker for defensive assets
- 2nd highest scoring GK this season by points, 136 points
- Everton have the 5th highest clean sheet% this season, 29%
3. Jake O’Brien

- Another Everton pick, 3rd best on the fixture ticker for defensive assets
- I have picked O’Brien over Mykolenko because of the slightly better underlying numbers for goal threat (shots, SoT, TPA, xG+xAG)
- He has 2 goals so far this season
O’Brien vs Mykolenko:
- Mins(L10): 900 vs 810
- G/A: 2/0 vs 0/1
- Shots/90: 0.3 vs 0.4
- SoT/90: 0.2 vs 0.0
- CC/90: 0.4 vs 0.7
- TPA/90: 1.2 vs 0.8
- xG+xAG/90: 0.09 vs 0.07

- 4th highest defender by points this season, behind only Trent Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, and Milenkovic
- Joint highest among defenders for goals (5)
5. Neco Williams

- Another Forest pick, they are top of the fixture ticker for defensive assets
- Neco Williams preferred over Milenkovic because of the better underlying numbers (shots, SoT, cc), although Milenkovic has more attacking returns (6 vs 3)
Neco Williams vs Milenkovic:
- Mins: 2138 vs 2880
- G/A: 1/2 vs 4/2
- Shots/90: 1.3 vs 0.8
- SoT/90: 0.3 vs 0.2
- CC/90: 0.6 vs 0.2
- TPA/90: 1.4 vs 1.8
- xG+xAG/90: 0.15 vs 0.14
- Price: 4.5m vs 5.2m
6. Collins
- Brentford is the 2nd best on the fixture ticker for defensive assets
- Highest scoring Brentford defender (104 points) by a mile, next best is Pinnock at 47 points
- With 2 goals and 2 assists, he is the 18th highest defender by points overall this season
Other defensive assets that can be considered:
- Porro (rotation risk, though, because of Europa League semi-finals)
- Wan Bissaka
FPL GW35 to GW38 Players to Target – Midfielders
1. Mbeumo
- Brentford is top of the fixture ticker for attacking assets
- 2nd highest scoring midfielder this season, behind Salah
- Talisman, 24 G+A in Brentford’s 56 goals (43%)
- Captaincy contender for 35 and 36 (if no doubles)

2. Bowen

- WHU is third best in the fixture ticker for attacking assets
- 6th highest midfielder by points this season
- Also, Talisman, 16 G+A in West Ham’s 36 goals this season (44%)

3. Elanga
- NFO is second best in the fixture ticker for attacking assets
- Elanga preferred over MGW (and CHO) because of the slightly higher underlying numbers
Elanga vs MGW vs CHO vs Wood (for comparison):
Elanga | Gibbs White | Hudson Odoi | Wood | |
Price | 5.4m | 6.4m | 5.1m | 7m |
Minutes | 2046 | 2379 | 2105 | 2508 |
Goals/Assists | 6/9 | 5/7 | 5/2 | 19/3 |
Shots/90 | 1.5 | 2.0 | 1.6 | 1.9 |
Shots on Target/90 | 0.7 | 0.7 | 0.7 | 1.2 |
Chances created/90 | 1.8 | 1.7 | 1.9 | 0.6 |
TPA/90 | 3.7 | 3.1 | 3.0 | 2.9 |
(xG+xAG)/90 | 0.37 | 0.34 | 0.22 | 0.48 |
4. Kevin De Bruyne

- Man City 4th best on attacking fixture ticker, favourable double possible in 36 (SOU, BOU) – KDB is a captaincy contender
- Didn’t start the FA cup game against Forest, should be nailed as these will be his final 4 PL games for Man City (and final 2 at Etihad)
- Highest among Man City attacking assets in the last 5 for key passes (10); second highest for shots (11) behind only Marmoush (16)
Other Midfielders to Target:
- Rogers
- Mitoma (BHA play WOL in 36, TOT in 38)

- Man City 4th best on attacking fixture ticker, favourable double possible in 36 (SOU, BOU) – also a captaincy contender
3. Yoanne Wissa
- Brentford top of the fixture ticker for attacking assets
- 2nd highest G+A for Brentford (19) after Mbeumo, involved in 34% of Brentford’s goals
- 6th highest forward by points (159), joint highest by points in the last 10 GWs (58)
- Wissa in fact has better underlying numbers than Mbeumo for most metrics (except CC) and is 1.5m cheaper
- Definitely can be considered as a cover for Mbeumo in case you can’t afford him this week

- Shots/90: 2.7 vs 2.2
