Trending Players on Sleeper Draft Fantasy Ahead of GW17:

Sleeper Draft Fantasy GW17- Best Punts and Hidden Gems

Jacob Murphy

Draft Fantasy GW17- Murphy

Jacob Murphy put in an excellent performance scoring 2 goals and helping Newcastle win 4-0 over Leicester City in GW16. It was not just this game but his underlying numbers have been really over the last 3 games ever since Howe started playing him back in the starting 11 as right winger. Over the last 3 matches, Murphy has 9 Shots, 4 Big Chances, 1.03 xG, 6 Chances created, 0.53 xA which helped him get 2 goals and 2 assists.

In fact, he has been one of the under-rated players in the Newcastle side with good chance creation numbers over the last 2 years despite not on the starting 11 every game.

Jacob Murphy since the start of last season:

  • Minutes played– 1190
  • Minutes per assist– 173 (1st among Newcastle Players)
  • Minutes per chance created– 43 (2nd among Newcastle Players)
  • Minutes per Big Chance created– 159 (2nd among Newcastle Players)

Key Stat: Only Palmer(6) and Madueke(5) have had more Big Chances than Jacob Murphy(4) among Midfielders over the last 3 Gameweeks.

Up against an Ipswich side who are ranked 18th for xGC, Murphy should fancy himself to continue his scoring streak.

Kenny Tete

Draft Fantasy GW17- Kenny Tete

Robinson is someone who is very likely already picked up in your Draft leagues as he has got 6 assists this season- Most among Defenders. But you need not just focus on Robinson as Fulham as a defensive unit itself are really good for clean sheet points.

Fulham Defense Rank this season:

xGC5th
Big Chances Conceded3rd
Shots inside the Box conceded7th

Fulham have a a great run of fixtures starting from GW17- Southampton(H), Chelsea(A), Bournemouth(H), Ipswich(H), West Ham(A), Leicester(A) with Chelsea the only difficult game. Against a Southampton side who have scored the least goals this season, this could be a good entry point for any Fulham defender.

Note: Tete took a knock and was subbed off after just 54 minutes. Tete tried to shake off his knock, but couldn’t as it seemed to be too painful. Watch out for the press conferences. If he is ruled out for GW17, you can go for other Fulham Defenders like Castagne(Direct Replacement for Tete) and Bassey.

Elliot Anderson

Draft Fantasy GW17- Elliot Anderson

Elliot Anderson did put up a man of the match performance in the 2-1 win vs Villa and has been one of the best Forest players this season. He now has 2 assists from the last 2 matches as well. The next 4 fixtures looks good for Forest- Brentford(A), Spurs(H), Everton(A), Wolves(A) which are good fixtures for the 4th placed Nottingham Forest side.

Elliot Anderson’s game by numbers vs Aston Villa:

  • 43 touches
  • 30/32 passes completed
  • 12 duels won
  • 8x possession won (most)
  • 6 touches in opposition box
  • 4 chances created (joint-most)
  • 3 take-ons completed (most)
  • 2/2 tackles won
  • 1 shot
  • 1 assist

Anderson’s numbers have been really good that he is almost on-par with one of the best midfielders in Europe. With points awarded in Sleeper Draft Fantasy(customizable points scoring) for Blocked shots, Tackles and clearances- Elliot Anderson is a great pick.

He is also on some corners as well having taken 7 corners from the last 3 games.

Diogo Jota

Draft Fantasy GW17- Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota made his return from injury(as a substitute) in GW16 vs Fulham and got a goal despite playing only 11 minutes. Liverpool would surely rely on Jota’s finishing during the upcoming fixture run congestion. Jota has one of the Best Goal Involvements per 90 minutes in the entire league so if he can stay fit, he can certainly create havoc. Liverpool’s next 3 fixtures are against Spurs, Leicester and West Ham who are all defensively poor and are ranked 12th, 19th and 17th for xGC in the league.

Arne Slot on Jota in the Press Conference before the EFL Cup game vs Southampton

“He wasn’t entirely okay after the game(Fulham game). Didn’t train with us after the game. I don’t expect him to start but he might get some minutes.”

Even though it looks like he is not fit to get regular minutes, he will surely be getting minutes in the upcoming games during the festive period. One more feature on Sleeper is that you can bench a player and make a manual substitution after seeing the starting lineups. So if an explosive player like Diogo Jota is there on the Free market in Draft Fantasy GW17 might not be a bad idea at all.

Tomas Soucek

Draft Fantasy GW17- Tomas Soucek

Even though West Ham have not been consistent, Lopetegui has inspired them to 2 decent results in the last 2 games with a win over Wolves and a draw vs Bournemouth. Soucek is one of the important players in the West Ham if Lopetegui needs to keep his position. Soucek is always a threat on set-pieces which is known to everyone. With West Ham preferring to play 3 central midfielders and Paqueta on the wings, Soucek is expected to be a bit more forward(among the three CMs) with Soler suspended for GW17.

Soucek Stats this season:

  • 12 Starts
  • 2.43 Shots Inside the Box/90
  • 0.33 Big Chances/90
  • 0.30 xGI/90

Key Stat: Soucek’s 2.43 Shots inside the Box/90 ranks 9th among all Midfielders this season.
