2024/25 FPL Season ~ Best GW1 FPL Drafts

FPL GW1 Draft 1:

Draft with Salah + Foden + Palmer + Watkins+ Isak + Havertz

Structure of the draft: 3-4-3 | Budget: 99.5 Million

FPL GW1 Draft 1:

Notes on the draft:

  • Draft with Salah + Foden + Palmer + Watkins+ Isak + Havertz
  • In this draft, you can do Foden to Gordon and get Gvardiol for Dunk and still have 1.5 million on the bank to upgrade defense/Midfield
  • You can also do Nkunku to Gordon/Eze as well. Can also start with Gordon and then maybe Nkunku for the easier fixtures from GW2 after they play City in GW1
  • Cold Palmer, the highest-scoring player last season with 244 pts is in despite costing 10.5 Million this time. Chelsea’s fixtures are great from GW2 onwards and Palmer is still a solid option despite his hefty price tag.
  • Konsa and Burn rotate very well, and at just 9.0 million the duo offers great value. See below on how the rotation works.
    • If you rotate them correctly till GW17, you will have- 1/17 games vs Last season’s Top 6
    • 2/17 games vs Last Season’s 7th-10th placed teams
    • 14/17 games vs Last Season’s 11th-17th placed & Promoted Teams
  • Kai Havertz’s 1st season at Arsenal ended strongly after Arteta started to play him regularly as the CF(Starting GW26), in the 13 games during the period Havertz scored 8 goals and picked up 7 assists for a total of 105 pts(2nd amongst all players)

FPL GW1 Draft 2:

Structure of the draft: 3-4-3 | Budget: 100 Million |

Draft with Foden, Palmer & Watkins

FPL GW1 Draft 2:

Notes on the draft:

  • Draft has two premium defenders in Trent Alexander Arnold & Gvardiol, Trent at 7.0 Million offers great value and Liverpool have a great run of fixtures at the beginning of the season.

  • Gvardiol also offers the potential of CS and attacking returns, between GW33-GW38 of last season Gvardiol picked up four goals and two assists registering 68 points(Joint highest during the period)
  • Rashford had a silent 23/24 season and is priced only at 7.0 Million, but with Shaw back in full fitness and Man United being injury-free once again makes Rashford an exciting asset.
  • But if you feel Rashford is not a great option you can do a swap with Eze who is also priced at 7.0 Million.
  • In the 22/23 season, he was priced at only 6.5 Million and bagged 205 points with 17 goals and 7 assists.
  • Callum Hudson Odoi is a good enablers with Nottingham Forest having a good run of games at the beginning of the season. The former Chelsea star picked up 7 goals between GW23-38 last season and had a points tally of 77 during the period.

Potential cons of the draft:

  • Bit risky to go without both Mo Salah and Haaland

FPL GW1 Draft 3:

Haaland + Salah Draft

Structure of the draft: 3-4-3 | Budget: 100 Million

FPL GW1 Draft 3 - Haaland + Salah Draft

Notes on the draft:

  • The duo take up a handsome 27 Million of the 100 Million budget which is more than 1/4 of the entire budget
  • Joao Pedro at 5.5 Million offers great value in the 3rd striker spot and he’s also likely the penalty taker for Brighton
  • Saliba is in from Arsenal’s defence who were outstanding last season(18 clean sheets and an xGC of only 28.32 all season)
  • Mykolenko & Guehi are great options that rotate well in the 4.5 Million price bracket, If you have the budget you can probably even stretch one of them to Munoz/Tarkowski or Branthwaite. See below on how the rotation works.
  • If you rotate them correctly till GW12, you will have- 0/12 games vs Last season’s Top 6
  • 2/12 games vs Last Season’s 7th-10th placed teams
  • 10/12 games vs Last Season’s 11th-17th placed & Promoted Teams

Potential cons of the draft:

  • Too much budget is used to get both Salah and Haaland.
  • There are not a lot of great budget midfield options up to 5.5 Million, we’ll have to wait and see if we get any options from pre-season.

FPL GW1 Draft 4:

No Haaland & Palmer Draft

Structure of the draft: 3-4-3 | Budget: 100 Million

  • Strong midfield with Foden, Bruno, Saka & Salah
  • Armstrong is a great 3rd striker option and is also on penalties
  • Salah, Watkins, and Saka also rotate nicely for captaincy even if you don’t pick Haaland and Palmer.

The No Haaland/Palmer Captaincy Planning:

🔴GW1- Salah vs IPS(A)
🔴GW2- Salah vs BRE(H)
🟣GW3- Watkins vs LEI(A)
🔴GW4- Salah vs NFO(H)
🔴GW5- Salah vs BOU(H)
🔫GW6- Saka vs LEI(H)/Watkins vs IPS(A)
🔴GW7- Salah vs CRY(A)
🔫GW8- Saka vs BOU(A)
🟣GW9- Watkins vs BOU(H)
