What is Triple Captain in FPL?
Each week, you’ll choose a captain for your FPL side, with their points tally doubling for that week. With the Triple Captain chip, which can be used once per season on a single player in a game week, your captain’s score will be tripled instead.
The Triple Captain chip can each be used once a season and are played when saving your team on the my team page. They can be canceled at any time before the Gameweek deadline. This is unlike the Bench Boost or the Wildcard, which potentially impacts your squad for weeks to come.
When is the suitable time to use Triple Captain in 2023/24 FPL?
Holding your Triple Captain chip for a double game week is a popular strategy as it offers your captain twice as many matches to deliver points, assuming they are involved in both games.
What if I used the Triple Captain on a player and he did not play at all?
The Triple Captain will follow the rules surrounding the weekly Captaincy. If your Triple Captain did not play a single minute that week, your Vice-Captain will receive 3x the points and If your Vice-Captain did not play as well, no one else in the team will receive the boost, which means your chip is totally wasted.
