Gameweek 29 turned out to be a disaster for managers, especially those who put their money on Manchester City and Arsenal assets. But we have got to put that behind and move on as another game week is upon us. Making the right transfer moves for FPL GW 30 could be tricky as a blank gameweek is on the horizon. So we’ve decided to split our differential picks into two parts, one for those who plan to free hit in GW 31 and the other is for those who don’t plan to use it. So, go ahead and have a look at the differential picks for FPL GW 30.
How did our GW 29 Differential picks perform?
If you plan to Free Hit in GW31:
Harvey Barnes vs Watford(A), TSB:3.9%, Price:6.1
Kudos to those who stuck with Leicester assets through their lean patch over the last couple of months. But, I can guarantee you their bad period is well and truly over. Why? Because of the return of Ndidi from injury. The foxes failed to win any of their last 6 games he didn’t start. Now that he has fully recovered, Leicester assets will be invaluable again as they have some amazing fixtures coming up, starting with Watford in FPL GW 30.
Harvey Barnes is the best option from Leicester City. The winger scored 19 points against Aston Villa last time out. The Englishman also has 5 goals and 2 assists in his last 7 matches. He has had 8 shots on goal in the last two matches.
Gabriel Jesus vs Burnley(H), TSB:3.2%, Price:9.5
Picking Jesus is always a gamble. But for the first time in a long while, it is probably worth it. Manchester City look as though they have their eyes set on Champions League and FA Cup. That means some of the fringe players will get starts in the Premier League. From an FPL point of view, the best option in that case is Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus has 10 goals and 5 assists thus far, this campaign. That is already more than what he managed in the whole of last season. The Brazilian has been in good form of late. He scored key goals in Leicester and Madrid recently. With Kun Aguero having slight injury concerns, he’s nailed on to start at least for FPL GW 30. Against Burnley last time out, Jesus grabbed a brace in what was one of his best displays for the club.

Anthony Martial vs Spurs(A), TSB: 12.8%, Price:7.9
A lot of eyes have turned towards Bruno Fernandes(8.5) and rightly so. However, the player who has most benefited from the arrival of the Portuguese is Anthony Martial. His performances have gone under the radar. Martial has 3 goals in his last 4 matches or in other words 3 goals since Bruno’s arrival.
Manchester United have a fabulous run in from now up and till the end of the season. So, ideally, it would be better if you have both Bruno and Martial in your sides. In FPL GW 30, Martial takes on a beleaguered Spurs, who can’t wait for the season to get over. We expect Martial to deliver a big haul. Martial though has an injury concern and it will safe to bring him in after checking after the latest injury news on our Twitter.
Ross Barkley vs Aston Villa(A), TSB:1.7, Price:5.6
For the first time, this season Barkley is showing the kind of form he did in pre-season. He has 4 assists in the last 3 premier league games. The midfielder also scored a worldie against Liverpool in the FA Cup game. It is safe to say that his confidence is up.
In FPL GW 30, Chelsea take on an Aston Villa side- that has conceded more goals(56) than any other side. Furthermore, Chelsea have a very good set of fixtures coming up, and most of the midfielders are injured, so Barkley’s place in the starting eleven is pretty much assured.
If you don’t plan to Free Hit in GW31
Jarrod Bowen vs Wolves(H), TSB:0.2%, Price:6.5
WestHam have regained their mojo in the last month or so. Their performances have certainly gone up in that time. The key to this has been the arrival of Jarrod Bowen. The midfielder has already registered 1 goal in his short career. Bowen has had 7 shots in his last two games, which is more than any other hammer.
David Moyes’ men have scored 6 goals in their last 2 home games. Bowen has the form and the fixtures to give managers attacking returns. Get him in your sides ASAP.
Nathan Ake vs Crystal Palace(H), TSB:6.5%, Price:4.8
It doesn’t require a genius to tell the fact that the FPL GW 30 fixture between Bournemouth and Crystal Palace is gonna have very few goals. Bournemouth are in need of points and their next three fixtures are only winnable ones, on paper at least. Crystal palace are vulnerable from set pieces, they’ve conceded 6 goals. Bournemouth have scored a whopping 14 goals from set plays. Nathan Ake has been the Cherries’ biggest goal threat in the last couple of games. So, combining all the three factors we can definitely say that Ake is worth a punt, short term anyways.
Troy Deeney vs Leicester(H), TSB: 2.0, Price: 6.2
The Watford captain is a home banker to say the least. He has 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 6 home games. He also missed a penalty along the way. Deeney takes on a Leicester side in FPL GW 30 that has kept just 3 clean sheets in the 14 gameweeks. Adding on to that, Watford’s home games are pretty winnable from here on in. So it would be a wise idea to have Deeney as the third forward in your sides.
