The ball breaks loose as Fabinho makes an inch perfect tackle. The Brazilian feeds the ball to Trent Alexander Arnold who is in acres of space. TAA carries the ball 30 yards down the right flank and crosses the ball. The ball just evades Mo Salah at the near post. To put it numbers, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah have together scored 30 out of Liverpool’s 66 goals in the Premier League this season. They could certainly do with another goal scorer in their arsenal.

According to reports, Timo Werner has a 52 million euros release clause in his contract. But there is a catch, this release clause expires on June 15. If Liverpool do manage to pull the deal off by then, Werner would become one of the best bargains in Premier League history.

Timo Werner is a versatile player who can play anywhere across the forward line. He currently plays for RB Leipzig, a team that plays a fast flowing attacking football, much like Liverpool. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Werner slots into the Premier League like a duck to water!
Werner is just 24 years old, he has blistering pace with ability to score goals aplenty with either foot and head if need be. To put it in numbers, Werner has scored 27 goals in 36 games in all competitions this season. He has also racked up 12 assists in that time.
Incidentally, 5 of his goals have come against other teams in the top 4 of the Bundesliga, in just 4 such games. This shows his appetite to score in big games. Something that Liverpool fans, at Anfield in particular will relish!
Will Liverpool have it all their own way in pursuit of Werner?
There are a host of other clubs interested in acquiring the services of Timo Werner. This includes clubs like PSG, Chelsea and Real Madrid. But, Liverpool are slight favorites to get their man given the German connections associated with their manager.
Where will Timo Werner fit in for Liverpool?
Werner can be in the starting line up if either of the front three need a break.Alternatively, Werner can also play as the main striker in the line-up with Firmino playing as a number 10 with a two man midfield.
In the big games, Werner can be the perfect impact substitute for Klopp’s men as they would look to counter attack their tiring opponents late on in the game.
