Is it time to play the second wildcard of the season?

Will Sadio Mane be fit to face West Ham?

Double Gameweek 24 saw so many managers going triple Liverpool with quite a handsome of them using the triple captain chip as well. But with wolves putting on a solid performance meant Liverpool could score only two goals reducing the FPL returns. To make things worse Mane and Vardy going off injured and Lundstram being benched made DGW24 to be disastrous for a lot of managers. In this post, We’ll be analyzing if playing the second fpl wildcard ahead of GW25 is worthy or not?

Injury news:

  • Vardy hasn’t hurt his hamstring as initially feared and could be back for the carabao cup semi-final fixture against Aston Villa.
  • There’s still no concrete news on Sadio mane’s injury with Klopp initially suggesting that mane could miss the next three fixtures.
Vardy still has a high ownership percentage in the top 10k. Vardy well could turn into a differential outside the top 30k

Should I use my FPL wildcard now or not?

Unlike previous seasons, the need to hold on your wildcard for blank and double game weeks is not a necessity this season as you can easily navigate the BGW28, Big BGW 31, Mini DGW34 and Big DGW 37 with planned transfers and fpl free hit.

If you’re hitting the wildcard now the Blanks for GW28 will be known post the carabao cup semi-final results meaning you can plan for BGW28 with your wildcard in play before the GW25 deadline.

Then comes the big blank GW31, which can be easily navigated using the Free hit chip. Mini DGW 34 and BIG DGW37 can be managed with planned transfers from GW 29 onwards.

To conclude, holding the wildcard for a big game week this season doesn’t seem to add a huge advantage. If you feel your team is underperforming and needs a couple of transfers then you can definitely hit the fpl wildcard without a doubt 👍

But if you just want to play the wildcard due to Vardy and mane injuries we would advise you not to do so as both of them are set to return soon. Holding Vardy and Mane seems to be differential outside the top 30k as a lot of them are shipping the duo out ahead of GW25 meaning holding them will help you go up the ranking once they hit form when they’re back.

Vardy and Mane have been transferred out by half a million managers already😲😲
