FPL GW3 was a very mediocre week for most FPL managers only with Haaland returning among the popular assets and all the other popular assets like Bruno, Calafiori/Arsenal defense, City midfielders(Foden/Cherki)and Joao Pedro all blanking. In this article, the founders of AllAboutFPL – Surya and Srini will discuss their FPL GW4 selection, highlighting their Drafts, Watchlist, and Chip Strategy for GW4 and beyond.

GW3 Review:

Happy with Haaland Triple Captaincy and 9*3= 27 Points. Could have liked to have another return from Triple captain but I am not complaining at all. The move to hold on to Mbeumo and not buy the Manchester City midfielders(Cherki/Foden) worked really well as both of them blanked and Mbeumo returned with a goal. There were not much returns apart from De Cuyper assist and Muharemovic DEFCON but it was a low scoring week overall.

Bruno Fernandes to Palmer
Yirenkyi to Rogers

The moves were made before Palmer’s price rise on Friday with the help of 0.3 million saved in the banked. Palmer was a no-brainer as I like him as a Captaincy option this week vs HUL(H). Hull have massively overperformed their defensive data(5.0+ xGC with 0 Goals conceded) and Chelsea also don’t have midweek European games this season. So both Rogers and Palmer are good long-term picks. Both of them were rested for midweek FA Cup game vs Leeds but came on during Half Time with Palmer getting a brace and Rogers getting 4 assists.

Chip Strategy and Transfer Plans:

GW5	Get a one week punt for Wirtz/Maguire. City mid vs SUN(H) or Barnes/Elanga/Hall vs HUL(H) or NFO defender vs COV(H) or Dewbsury Hall vs IPS(H) are some of the options.
GW6	Wildcard during the 3 week International break and target Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal defense, Bournemouth, Fulham, Newcastle and Forest. Likely no Man United and Liverpool.
GW12	Get in Bruno + Isak/ for Haaland + Cheap mid
GW16	Free Hit as Arsenal play MUN and City play Hull at home.

Free Hit in GW16:

The thought behind planning to use the Free Hit chip in GW16 is that Manchester United have good fixtures from GW12 till GW20 barring only the GW16 fixture vs Arsenal. So Bruno + Mbeumo from GW12 is also an option. The exit point for Haaland is good in GW12 as well as they play Arsenal(A), Brentford(A), Chelsea(H), Newcastle(A) in 4 off the 6 games. You can triple up on Man City in your GW16 Free Hit vs HUL(H). There are also other good fixtures to target on GW16 Free Hit as Brighton are at home to Ipswich, Bournemouth are at home to Coventry.

Captaincy

The Captaincy is firmly locked in on Palmer. Haaland and Pedro were the other choices but the higher ceiling for a Midfielder and Penalties helped me to lock Palmer as the GW4 Captain.
