The five most-transferred-in players for Gameweek 3:
- Cherki (2,141,186) – 3pt
- Wissa (1,297,894) – 1pt
- De Cuyper(1,097,946) – 4pts
- Elanga (937,618) – 1pt
- Ajayi (756,032) – 5pts

So, if your transfers didnโt work out last week, you are definitely not alone.
In fact, there was another interesting takeaway from GW3. 13 players returned double-digit hauls, and only ONE of them was a forward.
Yet most of us continue to play with a 4-3-3 or 3-4-3.
Are we all missing a trick or two?
There are plenty of decisions to make this week as fixtures turn dramatically for several teams. And with European football finally getting underway, we also need to factor in rotation and minutes risk, especially for teams playing twice a week.
So, perhaps it is time to look beyond the obvious and think a little differently.
So, letโs get into our BASH โ BUY, AVOID, HOLD & SELL picks for GW4, sponsored byโฆ well, nobody. We are poor. But you can help here if you want ๐

FPL GW4 Transfer Tips: Players to BUY
PS โ I am assuming everyone has Haaland in their teams. If not, he is your priority buy.
Chelsea Champions
Cole Palmer (ยฃ9.6m) โ MID, Chelsea โ 21.8% TSB
Joรฃo Pedro (ยฃ7.7m) โ FWD, Chelsea โ 1% TSB
Morgan Rogers (ยฃ7.6m) โ MID, Chelsea โ 28.0% TSB

Hull have an xGC of 5.05 but have conceded zero goals so far. That kind of defensive overperformance is simply not sustainable. Sooner or later, the goals are going to arrive. And unfortunately for Hull, their next opponent is the team that has scored the Most goals in the league this season.
Chelsea have already scored 8 goals, with Palmer, Joรฃo Pedro and Rogers scoring six of them, the trio have also assisted 4 goals too.
That is some serious FPL potential. And there is another reason to like this trio. Chelsea have only one fixture with an FDR greater than 3 all the way until GW13. That’s a ridiculous run of fixtures. With no European football to worry about and Chelsea having a favourable schedule for the foreseeable future, this could be the perfect time to invest in their attack.
In fact, Cole Palmer himself has given his stamp of approval to the trio.
So, if you are looking for a midfield/forward combination that you can potentially set and forget for several weeks, Chelsea have to be at the top of the list.
PS: We strongly recommend going for all three, especially if you’re wildcarding or free hitting this week.

Thierno Barry (ยฃ5.6m) โ FWD, Everton โ 5.6% TSB

If you are looking for a budget forward, Thierno Barry should be firmly on your radar. And the underlying numbers are screaming the same thing.

Data from Fantasy Football Hub – Memberships are available for the 2026/27 season at a 50% discount along
with a win-your-mini-league or get-your-money-back guarantee (T&C Applicable).
Among all players in the game, Barry currently ranks:
- 2nd for Big Chances
- 2nd for NPxG
- 2nd for xG
That’s not ยฃ5.6m-forward territory. That’s โwhy is everyone not buying him?โ territory.
And the fixtures couldn’t be much better. Everton face Spurs, who currently rank 16th for xGC, followed by Ipswich, who rank 20th for goals conceded. Then comes Hull, a team that is currently massively overperforming their defensive numbers.
So Barry has the combination we want in FPL: great underlying numbers + great fixtures + a great price.
There is also much more confidence around his minutes now. Everton sold Beto but failed to bring in another striker during the transfer window, leaving Barry as the obvious focal point of the attack.
There is even a decent chance he could take penalties. Ndiaye is no longer around, and Barry did take and score a penalty during pre-season. Do note, Garner could also be the one on penalties, we’ll only know for sure when Everton next get a penalty.
He’s also been in good touch in other competitions too, having bagged a hat-trick in the EFL Cup this season.
At ยฃ5.6m, with his underlying numbers, minutes looking secure and three attractive fixtures ahead, Barry is a solid differential option to consider at just 5.6% ownership.

FPL Gameweek 4 Transfer Tips: Players to AVOID
Alex Scott (ยฃ6.0m) โ MID, Bournemouth โ 4.5.0% TSB

Alex Scott is among the Top 5 most-transferred-in midfielders this week and it is easy to understand why. He has already delivered two double-digit hauls, and FPL managers are understandably looking at those points and thinking: I need some of that.
But this is exactly where we need to separate what has happened from what is about to happen. Scott’s recent points are attractive. His upcoming fixtures? Not so much.
Three of Bournemouth’s next five fixtures have an FDR of 4: Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.
So, just as everyone is finally jumping on Scott, Bournemouth are about to enter the difficult part of their schedule. The irony is that the fixtures after this run are extremely appealing. Which means this isn’t a case of saying Scott is a bad FPL asset. Quite the opposite, it’s about timing.
If you don’t own him, there is absolutely no need to rush in just because he has hauled twice. Let someone else pay the price for chasing those points while you wait for the fixtures to improve. GW7 or GW9 offers a much better entry point to bring in Alex Scott.

Manchester United Defenders & Goalkeeper:
Luke Shaw (ยฃ4.4m) โ DEF, Man Utd โ 13.9% TSB
Senne Lammens (ยฃ5.0m) โ DEF, Man Utd โ 12.3% TSB
Harry Maguire (ยฃ4.9m) โ DEF, Man Utd โ 12.3% TSB

This is one of those situations where we all knew the fixture swing was coming.
Many of us bought Manchester United defenders specifically for the opening two Gameweeks. The fixtures were good, the prices were attractive, and it made sense.
But GW4 was always going to be the point where we reassessed.
And that time has arrived.
Manchester United now face Manchester City and Spurs in their next three fixtures, while their defensive performances so far haven’t exactly filled us with confidence.
They have already conceded four goals against the two promoted sides they have faced. That’s not the kind of defensive record you want to carry into a run featuring Manchester City. Our verdict is that Man United defenders are easy sells this week.

FPL Gameweek 4 Transfer Tips: Players to HOLD
Bruno Fernandes (ยฃ12.0m) โ MID, Man Utd โ 46.1% TSB

2, 23, 2 – Those are Bruno Fernandes’ FPL points so far this season.
And yet, after just one blank, he is among the Top 3 most-transferred-out players this week.
This is exactly why we keep talking about knee-jerk transfers.
A lot of managers brought Bruno in after his mammoth haul against Ipswich. Now he has blanked once, and suddenly the same managers are looking to ship him out.
But let’s take a step back.
Bruno currently has the highest number of shots, goals scored, xGI, and goal involvements in the game.

Data from Fantasy Football Hub – Memberships are available for the 2026/27 season at a 50% discount along
with a win-your-mini-league or get-your-money-back guarantee (T&C Applicable).
That’s not the profile of a player you desperately need to sell.
Yes, Manchester United face Manchester City next, and that fixture is probably responsible for a large part of the selling. But even that isn’t necessarily the disaster everyone thinks it is.
United won the last league meeting between the two sides, with Bruno registering a goal and an assist (10 pts). This was also Carrick’s first game in charge as Man United manager.
Of course, one result doesn’t suddenly make Manchester City an easy fixture. But the point is that Bruno remains heavily involved in everything Manchester United do going forward.
And this is where FPL managers need to be patient.
If you bought Bruno because you believed he was going to be a key player for Manchester United and a consistent FPL scorer, one blank shouldn’t suddenly change your entire assessment.
Especially when the underlying numbers are still elite.
So, unless you have a clear and compelling replacement, I would not spend a transfer getting rid of Bruno.
- The temptation is to react to the blank.
- The smarter move is to look at the process.
Bruno is a HOLD. However, he is NOT a BUY, he is the classic example of No Buy-No Sell.
