In this post, we’ll run through the most likely Penalty & Set Piece Takers for all 20 Premier League teams. This blog will be in alphabetical group order and will include all possible set-piece takers and any necessary notes based on the currently available information.
Note: If there are multiple options for a given set piece/team, the options will be listed in order of priority from left to right.
This list will be updated on a rolling basis prior to FPL GW1 to ensure accuracy.
Premier League Penalty & Set Piece Takers | 2026/27 PL Season
AFC Bournemouth
Penalty taker: Kroupi* (£7.5m), Kluivert (£6.0m), Tavernier (£6.0m)
Set Piece Taker – Freekicks: Tavernier (£6.0m), Scott (£6.0m), Kluivert (£6.0m)
Set Piece Taker – Corners: Tavernier (£6.0m), Scott (£6.0m), Kluivert (£6.0m)
Note: Kroupi is injured at the beginning of the season, so either Kluivert or Tavernier will be on pens.
Arsenal
Penalty taker: Saka (£9.5m), Gyokeres (£7.5m), Odegaard (£6.5m)
Set Piece Taker – Freekicks: Rice (£7.5m), Saka (£9.5m), Odegaard (£6.5m)
Set Piece Taker – Corners: Rice (£7.5m), Saka (£9.5m), Bruno G (£7.0m)
Note: Bruno G was the main set-piece taker for Newcastle last season and could take some corner duties for Arsenal.
Aston Villa
Penalty taker: Buendia (£6.0m), Watkins (£8.0m)
Set Piece Taker – Freekicks: Buendia (£6.0m), McGinn (£5.5m), Gomes (£5.5m)*
Set Piece Taker – Corners: Cash (£4.5m), McGinn (£5.5m), Gomes (£5.5m)*
Note: Tielemens used to take corners and free kicks but has since left to join Manchester United, leaving a gap to be filled. New signing Gomes took some free kicks and corners for Wolves last season so may take up this responsibility. Gomes is currently injured.
Brentford
Penalty taker: Thiago (£8.0m), Schade (£6.0m)
Set Piece Taker – Freekicks: Lewis-Potter (£5.5m), Jensen (£5.5m), Damsgaard (£5.5m)
Set Piece Taker – Corners: Jensen (£5.5m), Damsgaard (£5.5m), Janelt (£5.0m), Ouattara (£6.5m)
Brighton and Hove Albion
Penalty taker: Groß (£5.5m), Promise David
Set Piece Taker – Freekicks: Groß (£5.5m), De Cuyper (£4.5m), Ayari (£5.5m)
Set Piece Taker – Corners: Groß (£5.5m), De Cuyper (£4.5m), Kadioglu (£4.5m), Minteh* (£6.0m)
Note: Minteh is currently injured. Brighton have also signed Promise David on loan, the Canadian striker has taken 12 penalties in his career and converted 10 of them, it remains to be seen if he becomes the 1st choice penalty taker right away.
Chelsea
Penalty taker: Palmer (£9.5m), Joao Pedro (£7.5m), Enzo (£7.0m)
Set Piece Taker – Freekicks: James (£5.5m), Neto (£6.5m), Palmer (£9.5m), Enzo (£7.0m)

Note: McNeil was on some set piece duties but has been transferred. The incoming Johnson was on some corner duties for Palace so it could be a straight swap – though Johnson is unlikely to come in as first or even second choice for these duties.
Fulham

Set Piece Taker – Freekicks: Iwobi (£5.5m)

Note: Wilson was the primary set-piece taker for Fulham last year but has moved to Leeds on a free transfer. While Iwobi is likely to take over (as he was the second choice behind Wilson), it’s unclear who the other options might be at this point.
Hull City
