The 2026/27 FPL Season is nearly here, and FPL have announced some changes. In this article, we will cover everything you need to know about the FPL 2026/27 Season Changes right from live score updates to bonus point system changes.

General updates ahead of 26/27 FPL season
- FPL points, ranks & mini leagues will now update in real time. Projected bonus points will be added to player scores after 20 minutes of each match
- DEFCON points will continue this season
- Gameweek locks only at 9 AM the day after the last game is played (Great for DEFCON updates)
- No changes to chips, we’ll get 2 set of chips like last season (1 set for each half)
- We can continue to roll up to five free transfers
- No free transfers for Asian Cup (No AFCON this time)

BPS updates
- Players no longer punished for being tackled. Previously -1 BPS for each time a player was tackled. Likes of Rogers, Semenyo, Ndiaye, Doku, Kayode, Bogle, Nico O’Reilly biggest beneficiaries

- A player will now earn 1 BPS for every 3 CBI, instead of getting 1 BPS for every 2 CBI last season
- Above balances DEFCON defenders benefiting in Bonus points
- GKs will now earn an additional 1 BPS for saving a “big chance”
- Penalty save will now be 7 BPS instead of 8 BPS (Evens out because penalty is a big chance too)
- GKs will earn 2 BPS for any save (Even deflections from own team mate) plus an extra 1 BPS for saving a shot taken from inside the box
- BPS for saves from outside the box is removed

9 Players have changed in Position ahead of the 2025/26 season.

FPL Player Price Change Predictor
After the Gameweek 1 deadline, there will be a page on the FPL website that shows the current progress of ALL players towards a price rise or price drop, as a percentage.
After a period of calibration, the tool will also include a “predicted progress” percentage to give managers further insight into potential changes, as shown below.
Anything over 100 per cent will indicate that the player is expected to surpass the threshold for an increase or decrease when the next set of price changes happen at 00:00 UK time.
FPL Rank History as Percentage:
You can now see Percentage Finish for each of your FPL seasons as seen from the image above. And also you can see the Career Average percentage knowing where you rank(in terms of %) since you started playing FPL.
