If you are willing to go with the popular Booster strategy, which is Wildcard in Round 3 and 12th Man in Round 1 or 2, having a wise selection for your 12th Man will save one of your two free transfers between these two rounds. Here, we look at players with fixture swings (an easy fixture in one round and a hard one in the other round), and the best candidates for this booster. In general, the most expensive options are the best picks for the 12th Man booster, because they help you financially to spread the money on the other 15 players, but here we talk about the top options, excluding this fact.

Round 1:
12th Man booster in the 2026 World Cup Fantasy is one of the five boosters available for managers to use. You can select one additional player to score points for your team in a round, and he cannot be substituted, captained, or transferred. He can be any player as long as that player is not already part of your squad. Budget or team restrictions do not count for him.
- E. Haaland (NOR-$10.5m-FWD): Arguably the best option here as he will face Iraq in Round 1 (as one of the easiest matches this round) and then Senegal in Round 2. Considering his price, his form, and the fantastic record in the qualifying round (16 goals & 3 assists in 8 matches), he is by far the most obvious pick for managers who like to own him only in the first match and not in the second round.
- J. Musiala (GER-$8.0m-MID), F. Wirtz (GER-$7.5m-MID) & K. Havertz (GER-$7.8m-FWD): Germany will have the easiest match of the first round against Curacao, the team that conceded 11 goals in their last three matches against non-top national teams. Having German attacking assets seems essential for this round, and especially for managers who want four German players, one of them as 12th Man + the other two + Kimmich would be the solution. Germany’s second match against the Ivory Coast is not as easy as the first one.
- M. Sabitzer (AUT-$6.8m-MID): Austria’s match against Jordan in the first round will be their easiest one during the group stage, as their second match against Argentina is the hardest one. Sabitzer is the best fantasy asset from Austria, and he has much potential for fantasy points in Round 1, although his price is not that much to consider him as an efficient choice for 12th Man booster in this round.
- N. Taremi (IRN-$6.1m-FWD): Iran has a similar situation as Austria, the easiest fixture in Round 1 (against New Zealand) and the toughest one in Round 2 (against Belgium). Taremi was the best Asian player in terms of goal contributions during the qualifying round (10 goals & 7 assists), and it’s best to own him only for the first round if you expect him to make a big return. However, his low price cannot fully justify him as the best pick for the 12th Man booster.

Round 2:
- Vinicius Junior (BRA-$10m-MID) & Raphinha (BRA-$8.2m-MID): Brazil will have the easiest fixture in Round 2 against Haiti, while their first match against Morocco is a bit tricky. So it makes sense to switch to the Brazilian players from Round 2 onwards, and these two are the best fantasy options. Bringing one of them with a free transfer and the other player with 12th Man booster will be ideal for the manager who plan not to have them in Round 1.
- H. Kane (ENG-$10.5m-FWD): England’s first match against Croatia will be much tougher compared to their second against Ghana, so Round 2 will be a perfect moment to own the most in-form striker of the previous season. He will probably have the greatest impact for England as their best player, and considering his price, he is surely one of the best candidates for your 12th Man booster in the second round.
- K. Mbappe (FRA-$10.5m-FWD): If you don’t already own him in your team from Round 1, which might be already a mistake, having him in Round 2, where France will meet Iraq (their easiest match in the group stage), is essential. Mbappe has the highest expected fantasy points in Round 2 among all the players, which makes him a must-own pick, and bringing him in even as 12th Man will be much better than not owning him at all.
- M. Salah (EGY-$10.0m-MID): Salah is the most overpriced midfielder in the game, considering the fact that his team is not as powerful as the other options at his price (Yamal, Vinicius Junior & Dembele). Meanwhile, Egypt will face New Zealand in Round 2, which is their easiest match of the group stage, and this is the perfect moment for managers who want to bring him in to collect fantasy points.
