With this in mind, each manager has the rare opportunity to trigger one of the latest chips while selecting a brand-new squad. However, before we proceed into the knockout proper, let’s revisit some key statistics from the top performers in the group stage.

Analyzing the Round of 32 Fixtures
The official knockout bracket mapping out the road to the FIFA 2026 World Cup final is set. Argentina, France, England and Spain have a decent run of games till the quarter-finals, and any of them are likely favourites to make it to the final.
France, Germany and the Netherlands have scored the most goals (10); Norway have created the most big chances (14), while Mexico and Spain are the only nations yet to concede a goal. It is this set list of top teams/favourites we’ll base our selection on heading into the next round.
Goalkeepers
Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez ($5m) has kept two clean sheets in three World Cup appearances for Albiceleste. Dibu has made only one save in the tournament, thanks to a solid set of defenders protecting him in goal. Facing Cape Verde next, Argentina will be confident they can keep a clean sheet in Matchday 4.
Mexico’s Raรบl Rangel ($3.9m) matches Spain’s Unai Simรณn for most clean sheets (3), with both players on 21 points. Presently ranked third for points by a goalkeeper, the Aztec goalie gains the upper hand for his nation’s home advantage against Ecuador next and is a solid budget enabler for his price tag.
Defenders
Paraguay has only scored one goal in the tournament, and this is great news for anyone considering Germany’s Joshua Kimmich ($5.5m). The German skipper has created the most big chances so far, is on wide free kicks and brings an additional flair of attacking returns as he occasionally inverts into the midfield when Germany attacks.
Although the DFB team have other solid defenders like Nathaniel Brown, Antonio Rรผdiger, and Jonathan Tah. I believe Kimmich stands out the most for stepping up in those big moments for club and country and is a no-brainer pick to have in your Matchday 4.
If you had Spain’s Marc Cucurella ($5.1m) and Portugal’s Nuno Mendes ($5.8m) for the entirety of the group stage. Congrats, you have amassed a total of 48 points from just these two defenders.
Both assets currently combine for two attacking returns (a goal and an assist) thus far. When pairing up Spain’s impenetrable defence and Nuno Mendes taking direct free kicks for Portugal against their next opponents Austria and Croatia, respectively. The sky is the limit.
Shifting away from the premium defenders, USA’s Sergino Dest ($4.3m) and Facundo Medina ($4m) make up our final selection for defenders. Both players are cheaply priced; Dest plays as a right winger for the Stars and Stripes side, while Medina combined for 20 points in the first two games.

Midfielders
‘Captain America’ is hale and hearty for Matchday 4. After coming in from the bench to feature against Tรผrkiye, Christian Pulisic ($7m) is available and ready to play for the USMNT. Reflecting on his performance in Matchday 1, the 27-year-old completed the most dribbles in that game, setting up teammate Weston McKennie, who forced an own goal from the opposition.
Pulisic’s innate dribbility and spontaneous movement in the opposition box will be an edge for fantasy managers who selected him this week. Hopefully, he does not exceed the 5% ownership threshold, as he currently qualifies for the scouting bonus system.
Three games, three goals and an assist for Amarelinha. Vini Jr ($10m) has become the go-to Brazilian asset to select for every FIFA fantasy manager, especially after racking up 15 points in Matchday 3 against Scotland.
Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti appears to have tweaked his formation from a 4-2-3-1 shape to a 4-4-2 formation, which largely aids Vini Jr in spearheading the attack from the left wing, with license to shoot and also break the ankles of defenders in front of him. No need to convince our dear readers; you get the gist. Bring in Vini Jr when they take on modern World Cup dark horse Japan.
According to OPTA stats, Morocco’s Ismael Saibari ($6.8m) is the first African player ever to score in each of his team’s three group games at a World Cup, matching Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan’s three World Cup goals scored in 2010. Saibari will be looking forward to adding a fourth World Cup goal to his tally when Morocco take on the Netherlands.
Belgium’s Leandro Trossard ($6.6m) 17-point haul in Matchday 3 against New Zealand was a significant boost for managers who got him in early. The Belgian Red Devils have found their shooting boots and were more clinical, with Trossard now creating 13 key passes for his nation. At 3.4% ownership, the Arsenal winger will be a vital differential against Senegal, a side who largely struggled against tough opponents in Group I.
In Spain’s 1-0 victory against Uruguay, Lamine Yamal ($10m) was ranked first for most touches in the opposition box and completed the most dribbles. Facing Austria next, who have conceded six goals in their opening three matches and most noticeably were a bit exposed on the left flank after Riyad Mahrez’s brace in Matchday 3. Yamal looks like a no-brainer plus a top captaincy pick in the round of 32.

Forwards
Harry Kane ($10.5m) scored his third World Cup goal against Panama, breaking Gary Lineker’s record for most goals scored by an English player. The Bayern Munich forward still has his eyes on winning the Golden Boot award as he did back in the 2018 World Cup. Should England not struggle to break down the Democratic Republic of Congo, then we anticipate Kane scoring at least two goals this week.
I believe every single manager will try fitting in both France’s Kylian Mbappรฉ ($10.5m) and Argentina’s Lionel Messi ($10.5m), who both combined for 10 goals scored in the opening three matches. The 27-year-old French captain has amassed six attacking returns (4 goals and 2 assists) for his nation and will be looking forward to getting on the scoresheet against Sweden.
Despite playing only 20 minutes from the bench, Messi managed to score a beautiful free-kick goal to extend the all-time World Cup goal record to 19 goals scored and has now scored in seven consecutive World Cup matches. The chase for the golden boot is on, and perhaps Messi might score another hat trick against Cabo Verde this week.

FIFA World Cup Fantasy: Matchday 4 Differentials
- USA: Folarin Balogun ($6m) was very impactful for the USMNT during the group stage with three goals scored. With only 3.9% ownership to his name, the in-form striker could rack up another mega haul against Bosnia like he did in Matchday 1.
- Netherlands: Brian Brobbey ($5.7m) broke into the Dutch first team recently, scoring three goals in 149 minutes played. Morocco are a tough side to play against; however, the Sunderland forward might be the solution in breaking down the Atlas Lions’ defence.
- Colombia: Daniel Munoz ($4.6m) scored in the opening two matches for Los Cafeteros, accumulating 24 fantasy points so far, which is on par with Marc Cucurella and Nuno Mendes, recommended above. The Crystal Palace attacking wingback might be one to consider this week against Ghana.
- Switzerland: With three goals scored and an assist provided in these last two matches for the Swiss team, Johan Manzambi ($5.6m) is only the third under-21 player with 4 goal involvements at the FIFA World Cup. The wonderkid will be eager to score the Red Crosses when facing Algeria.
