With rotation becoming an increasing concern for some of the top sides, fixture quality and expected minutes are more important than ever. Thankfully, GW37 presents a number of attractive fixtures for some highly-owned assets, while also offering opportunities for a few under-the-radar picks to shine.

FPL GW37 Scout Picks
FPL GW37 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper

Arsenal’s Raya (6.1m) gets the nod between the sticks for GW37 as the Gunners host Burnley at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta’s side continue to boast one of the league’s strongest defensive records, ranking top for both goals conceded and expected goals against (xGA). Raya himself has been a reliable source of points throughout the campaign, combining clean sheet potential with strong distribution numbers and bonus point appeal and ranks top for points scored amongst goalkeepers at this late stage.
Burnley, meanwhile, have struggled in the goalscoring department this season, particularly against top-half opposition. They rank 2nd bottom for goals scored and 2nd bottom for xG this season. Arsenal completely dominated the reverse fixture earlier in the season, limiting Burnley to very little attacking threat, and there’s every chance we see a similar pattern here. With Arsenal still pushing strongly towards the title, expect another focused and professional defensive display at the Emirates this weekend.

FPL GW37 Scout Picks – Defenders

We’ve selected Gabriel (7.3m), O’Reilly (5.3m) and Tarkowski (5.7m) as our defense for FPL GW37…

Sticking with Arsenal’s defence, Gabriel remains one of the standout defensive picks in FPL. The Brazilian centre-back has become a consistent source of points thanks to his combination of clean sheets and attacking threat from set pieces. Last time out against Burnley, Gabriel produced an attacking return (A) and picked up 2 bonus points to complement his sides’ clean sheet (12 points total!). Since then, Burnley have continued to struggle both scoring and defending set pieces, conceding 10 goals from corners and scoring just. Gabriel has already produced 8 attacking returns this season and will fancy his chances again here considering the opposition and circumstances!

Defensively, the fixture could hardly be better. Burnley have found goals difficult to come by against elite opposition, and Arsenal’s home defensive numbers are among the best in Europe. Don’t be fooled by Burnley’s recent 2-2 draw with Villa, they remain pretty blunt in attack. Gabriel looks like one of the safest and highest-upside defender picks for GW37.
Manchester City travel to Bournemouth in GW37, and O’Reilly earns a place in the Scout Picks thanks to his growing involvement in Pep Guardiola’s side. City remain relentless in attack, but their defensive numbers have quietly improved across the season. Bournemouth are an exciting attacking side, though they can often leave gaps in transition — something City are perfectly equipped to exploit with the pace of Doku, Semenyo and Haaland. O’Reilly’s advanced positioning and attacking instincts have seen him produce 5 goal involvements in his last 10 appearances in the league and we could certainly see him profit again here!
Bournemouth are no pushovers and will certainly put up a fight against title chasing City – their 16 game unbeaten run is astonishing and takes them all the way back to the beginning of January! In the reverse fixture City exploited Bournemouth’s transitional style and scored 3 goals in the first hour of the game (with O’Reilly scoring the third goal!). Despite his exceptional form and average of almost 8 points per game across his last 9 appearances in the league O’Reilly is still only owned by under 20% of FPL managers – which is why it feels necessary to make the case for him in our Scout Picks articles every week!
Everton’s Tarkowski continues to be one of the most underrated defensive assets in FPL. The Toffees host Sunderland this weekend, and the fixture presents an excellent opportunity for another clean sheet. Sunderland have dropped off significantly towards the back end of the season and are winless in their last 4 premier league matches, scoring just once in their last 3.
STAT: Tarkowski ranks third amongst defenders for Defcon points (40), scoring them in 20/35 appearances this season.
Tarkowski’s appeal goes beyond just clean sheet potential. The Everton centre-back ranks extremely highly for defensive contributions, often putting him firmly in contention for bonus points whenever Everton keep opponents quiet. The English defender is also a threat from set pieces and has produced 5 attacking returns this year.

FPL GW37 Scout Picks – Midfielders

For FPL GW37 we’ve chosen a midfield of Bruno (10.4m), Saka (10.0m), Cherki (6.6m), Wilson (5.9m) and KDH (5.2m)…

Bruno Fernandes remains Manchester United’s creative heartbeat and is once again one of the standout midfield options this week. United host Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford in FPL GW37. Fernandes’ run of 8 consecutive matches with an attacking return has come to an end with his blank against Sunderland in FPL GW36, but that does not mean that he has become a bad FPL option overnight. His 11 attacking returns between FPL GW28 and FPL GW36 demonstrate how consistent an FPL point-scorer he is, and why he remains an essential asset in the game.
STAT: Fernandes has the most double digit hauls in FPL this season with 11.
Saka keeps his spot in the team for FPL GW37. Arsenal’s star winger faces Burnley at home, one of the standout fixtures of the gameweek, and everything points towards another big performance from the England international. Saka failed to deliver an attacking return against West Ham in FPL GW36, but we should not be put off by this as he has been in great form since returning to the team from injury. His combination of creativity, finishing ability, and penalty duties makes him arguably Arsenal’s most reliable FPL asset.
Burnley have the worst defensive record in the league and rank bottom for both goals against and xGA. In their last 3 matches they have conceded 6 goals and over 7xGA of chances. Given Arsenal’s motivation and attacking form at the Emirates, Saka is one of the top captaincy contenders for GW37.
Rayan Cherki has emerged as one of the most exciting differential picks in the game in recent weeks. The Frenchman’s technical quality and unpredictability have added another layer to Manchester City’s attack, and his recent performances suggest he could be a huge asset for the run-in.Against Bournemouth, in what will no doubt be a chaotic and open game, Cherki should find plenty of space between the lines.
Bournemouth’s aggressive pressing style often leaves gaps centrally, and City’s creative players are experts at exploiting exactly those situations. Cherki’s 3.03 key passes is the highest in the city squad and his 0.53xA/90 is ridiculously high! 11 assists and 4 goal involvements in 30 matches thus far isn’t half bad for breakout campaign in the prem is it?! With many managers now moving on from the likes of Semenyo, Cherki and Doku offer good, cheaper options into a city attack that are still pushing for a title.
Harry Wilson gets the nod for GW37 as Fulham travel to Wolves. The Welshman has blanked in all of his last 5 appearances in the league, but with an attractive fixture against bottom-of-the-table-already-relegated Wolves coming up this weekend, he is surely an interesting differential. Across Wilson’s blank-spell he has been unlucky not to produce the odd attacking return, racking up well over 1xGI. His numbers also look a lot worse than they could, as Fulham faced Arsenal in FPL GW35 and then Bournemouth (longest unbeaten run in the league, remember them?) in FPL GW36, knocking his stats.
FACT: In the reverse fixture Wilson scored and took home two bonus points!
Wilson’s set-piece delivery and ability to make piercing attacking runs make him an attractive budget midfield option, particularly when the fixture is so good! Wolves have conceded 5 in their last 3 matches and an average of 2 per game across their last 6. Given his form, creativity, and price point, Wilson stands out as a strong differential option this week.
KDH completes the midfield. With Everton sat in 10th on 49 points, joint with Chelsea in 9th and just 2 points off Brentford in 8th, the race for Europe is well and truly on… KDH has picked up 4 attacking returns across his last 5 matches, blanking only against City in FPL GW35. The english midfielder has 15GI across the season and has been a revelation since joining and taking him that more advanced midfield role in the summer.
With Everton chasing europe and KDH in great form, he looks like a great option for the decent fixture against Sunderland (who sit 2 places lower and just 1 point behind Everton) in FPL GW37. At his price point, he offers fantastic value heading into GW37. Managers searching for a low-owned midfielder capable of delivering both creativity, Defcon and bonus-point potential should definitely be considering Dewsbury-Hall this week.

FPL GW37 Scout Picks – Forwards

Bowen (7.7m) and Haaland (14.7m) complete our AAFPL GW37 Scout Picks team…

Bowen’s West Ham side face an out-of-sorts Newcastle side in FPL GW37 as their battle for survival continues. With Spurs drawing on monday night, West Ham have been handed a lifeline and could stay up should Spurs drop more points between now and the end of the season. At this point, what teams still ‘have to play for’ becomes vitally important, and the perceived wisdom is that teams/players will step up to the mark.
Bowen is surely a man who steps up to the occasion. Though his goal contributions have dried up in recent weeks, Nuno’s side are showing that they still have a lot of fight left and as Bowen is their most potent attacker, he makes our team for FPL GW37.
Haaland is our final pick for FPL GW37 as City take on Bournemouth this weekend. Having been rested in mid-week against Palace, we’re sure that Haaland will return to City’s starting line up for this crucial clash against Bournemouth in FPL GW37.

By his own extraordinary standards, some have labelled this a “quiet” campaign for the Norwegian, yet his numbers remain absolutely ridiculous. Haaland has already scored 26 league goals this season from a xG total of 28.64, while averaging 3.83 shots per 90 – he’s also missed 30 big chances… Even during games where City have struggled creatively, Haaland’s movement and positioning continue to generate elite underlying numbers. He’s an excellent captaincy pick again this week and a must have for FPL GW37!
