If we look at the Top 10 scorers of the GW that just went by, only Gabriel and Haaland are owned by more than 15% of managers. That’s the reason why we love the EPL – the unpredictability of the sport, where a nobody can become a hero overnight.
And it’s not just at an individual level. Even the teams can barely be separated. Two more rounds remain, and yet the EPL still doesn’t have a champion – something neither La Liga, Serie A, nor Bundesliga can claim.
There’s a reason why we all love the EPL… and by extension, FPL.
As we approach the finishing line, GW37 stares at us with the promise of unpredictability and its usual dose of chaos. There’s plenty left to play for – not just for the clubs, but for FPL managers as well.

FPL Gameweek 37 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Viktor Gyökeres (£9.0m) – FWD, Arsenal – 15.6% TSB
- GW 36 – Watkins –⚽
- GW 35 – DCL –⚽
- GW 33 – Haaland – ⚽
- GW 33 – Jesus – ⚽
Whichever striker has played against Burnley in the recent past has scored against them.
Up next are title contenders Arsenal, who are desperate to pile on goals if the title race eventually comes down to goal difference.
Gyökeres is expected to lead the line for the Gunners against Burnley. Since GW25, no FWD has scored more goals or accumulated more FPL points than the Swedish talisman.
Burnley, meanwhile, rank 20th across almost every defensive metric imaginable.
Not many decisions in life get easier than this.
William Osula (£5.4m) – FWD, Newcastle – 0.9% TSB
Osula has become a regular starter since GW32. In these last 5 GWs, among FWDs, Osula ranks:
• 1st for Bonus Points
• 2nd for Big Chances
• 2nd for Goals Scored
• 2nd for xGI
• 2nd for xPts
• 2nd for FPL points
Now combine that with West Ham’s defensive numbers:
| West Ham Defence | Rank |
| Shots Conceded | 19th |
| Shots in the Box Conceded | 19th |
| Shots on Target Conceded | 19th |
| xGC | 18th |
| Goals Conceded | 18th |
| Clean Sheets | 18th |
| Big Chances Conceded | 17th |
| NPxGC | 17th |
| xCS | 17th |
West Ham have conceded 5 goals in their last 3 matches and are hanging on to Premier League survival by the skin of their teeth.
At 0.9% ownership, this is the kind of differential that can genuinely swing ranks late in the season. Sometimes the obvious punt is the right one.
FPL Gameweek 37 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD
Harry Wilson (£5.9m) – MID, Fulham – 18.8% TSB
Look at the skyscrapers on the left and then look at the farmhouses on the right – separated by a giant blank in the middle.

That’s Harry Wilson’s score chart since GW10.
The frustration among managers is understandable. But the decline itself is baffling. How does an asset flying so high suddenly fall back to earth so dramatically?
What does he need as a catalyst to restart? Maybe the same catalyst that started this entire run in the first place.
A fixture against Wolves in GW10 kickstarted Wilson’s scoring spree. Coincidentally, he faces the same opposition again this week — only this time, Wolves arrive with even lower morale after relegation and the second-worst defensive numbers in the league behind Burnley.
This might finally be the GW Wilson rewards the managers who stubbornly held on through the rough patch.
Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m) – FWD, West Ham – 12.7% TSB
After 3 blanks in his last 4, Bowen is the 3rd most transferred-out FWD this GW.
However, the underlying stats show just how unlucky Bowen managers have been not to get more returns. Even in this lean patch of 4 GWs, among FWDs, Bowen ranks:
• 1st for Key Passes
• 1st for Big Chances Created
• 1st for xA
• 1st for Assists
West Ham are fighting for survival, meaning Bowen should have all the motivation needed heading into this fixture. Up next is Newcastle.
Since GW21, Newcastle’s defence ranks:
• 18th for Shots on Target Conceded
• 18th for Big Chances Conceded
• 18th for xGC
• 18th for Goals Conceded
• 19th for xCS
If you own him, hold and back him to shine one last time.
FPL Gameweek 37 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Ollie Watkins (£8.7m) – FWD, Aston Villa – 14.4% TSB
Villa’s fixtures take a disastrous turn this GW.
After facing relegation-battling Spurs and Burnley in recent weeks, Emery’s men now run into the brick wall of Liverpool and Manchester City in the final two GWs.
At this stage of the season, fixtures matter more than reputation. Managers chasing rank cannot afford to hold premium assets simply because they have been good servants all season. The opportunity cost becomes massive when similarly priced forwards have far better fixtures and higher upside.
Watkins remains a fantastic player and can absolutely score against anyone – but FPL is often about timing exits correctly, not doubting quality.
With Arsenal assets facing Burnley and Newcastle attackers playing one of the league’s weakest defences, this feels like the right week to move Watkins on and attack greener pastures.
And there’s another complication: Villa have a Europa League final just days after facing Liverpool. Rotation risk and managed minutes suddenly become very real concerns.
Morgan Rogers (£7.4m) – MID, Aston Villa – 23.5% TSB
While the fixtures remain equally awful for Rogers, what makes matters worse is the complete disappearance of attacking returns.
Watkins, despite the difficult fixtures ahead, has at least continued rewarding managers — including a 9-point haul against Burnley recently and ranking as the 2nd highest-scoring FWD since GW31. Rogers, meanwhile, seems to have forgotten where the FPL points are kept.
Since GW26, Rogers has managed just 26 FPL points. To put that into perspective, Osula has outscored him while playing less than half the minutes.
Also, let’s be honest – voluntarily starting attackers against Man City in GW38 (when City will be fighting the last bout for the crown) sounds like the kind of decision that doesn’t end well.
At this point of the season, managers need explosive upside, not hopeful patience. Rogers unfortunately falls into the latter category.
