FPL Gameweek 35 Review

GW35 was quite average for me. With 57 points scored, I did not move at all in rankings, moving from 469k to 468k overall. It has to be called a grey arrow at this rank. Chelsea again disappointed, with Cole Palmer missing a penalty in the 1-3 loss to the reserve side of Nottingham Forest at home. At least Joao Pedro scored and broke the drought, and what a spectacular goal it was, too. But overall, I really need to plan an exit from Chelsea assets, particularly Palmer. Gabriel and Hill returned with points, while the Manchester City assets were involved in a stalemate against Everton, which totally hands the advantage to Arsenal. Elsewhere, Bruno Fernandes did his thing, and DCL also returned with a much-needed goal for his owners. The bench looks awful with flags, while the first 11 needs some improvements as well. With 2 transfers and 1.2 million in the bank, it’s time to put these to use..

The obvious move here is Palmer to Saka. Chelsea really look lost, and I feel the season is pretty much over for them already, while on the other hand, Arsenal are in charge of the title yet again and are now full of confidence after also reaching the Champions League final. Saka is in form at the right time for them, and I would like to own him for their title charge. The other move I am thinking of is Gomez to Hinshelwood, as Gomez looks to be struggling with fitness, and Hinshelwood is the man in form for Brighton. There is also an outside chance of Joao Pedro to Gyokeres, but maybe this move can wait another week, as I am less sure of it.
Since Manchester City have a double, the captaincy pick is an easy one. It’s none other than Erling Haaland, who would be looking to seal the rest of the matches and would be hoping for Arsenal to drop points in one of their games. For the vice-captain pick, I am picking Bruno. I do not like the captain and vice-captain to be from the same team and hedge it as an insurance against a rare event of match cancellation(s), else it would have been a Manchester City asset as well.
