FPL GW35 Wildcard Guide

Wildcard in FPL GW35 Window:

Wildcard in FPL GW35 Window
  • GW35 provides an opportunity for managers who still have the Wildcard chip to use it in combination with a bench boost in DGW36 (Mini double for Man City & Crystal Palace)
  • Managers can target players from Man City, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Brighton, Leeds, and other teams that have something to play for in the remaining games (PL Title, UCL/UEL/UECL qualification, avoiding relegation)

Players to Target on FPL GW35 Wildcard:

  • Goalkeepers: Verbruggen, Darlow, Henderson, Raya, Kelleher
  • Defenders: Van Hecke, Nico O’Reilly, Struijk, Bijol, Bogle, Rodon, Justin, Saliba, Gabriel, KadฤฑoฤŸlu, Munoz, Canvot, Lacroix, Richards
  • Midfielders: Semenyo, Hinshelwood, Bruno, Stach*, Tavernier, Cherki, Eze, Saka, Doku, Sarr, Rogers, Okafor, Wilson, Dewsbury Hall, Gibbs White
  • Forwards: Welbeck, Calvert Lewin, Haaland, Joao Pedro, Bowen, Gyokeres, Watkins, Thiago

Double Gameweek: Man City & Crystal Palace will double in GW36

FPL GW35 Wildcard Drafts

Draft 1: GW35 Wildcard, GW36 Bench Boost

Draft 1: FPL GW35 Wildcard, GW36 Bench Boost

Goalkeepers and Defenders:

  • We begin with a Leeds defence double-up of Darlow and Justin. With Gudmundsson ruled out for GW35 and Bijol being a doubt, Justin offers a good route into Leeds defence with decent attack potential. Leeds have kept 3 clean sheets from the last 5 games, which is the Joint Highest in the league during this time, and the underlying data is good as well. As they play Burnley, West Ham, and Tottenham in 3 out of the last 4 games – Expect them to pick up a few more clean sheets.
  • Henderson is the other goalkeeper in this draft ahead of their double in GW36.

Leeds Defense Rank since GW30:

  • Clean Sheets- Joint 1st
  • xGC-5th
  • Big Chances Conceded- Joint 3rd
  • Goals Conceded- Joint 3rd
  • Gabriel and O’Reilly are two easy locks in defense in every FPL GW35 Wildcard Team. O’Reilly has got 4 goals, 1 assist, 4 clean sheets, and 3 double-digit hauls from his last 7 matches and is comfortably the highest scoring defender during this time. City also have a confirmed Double Gameweek 36 vs BRE(H), CRY(H), which makes him an easy lock. Gabriel does not need any introduction- The Highest scoring Defender this season with 185 Points. Arsenal have a good end-of-season run with FUL(H), WHU(A), BUR(H), CRY(A) in the last 4 matches.

Most FPL Points among Defenders since GW26:

  • Henderson and Munoz are the Palace players in this draft for the DGW36 vs EVE(H), MCI(A). Even with Conference League commitments, these two players are nailed and likely to play every single game. Munoz has the attacking upside as seen by his 4 goals, 3 assists, and 6.1 xGI from just 24 games this season.
  • Kadioglu rounds up the defense as the Differential pick with Brighton playing an out-of-form Newcastle(A) in GW35, followed by WOL(H), LEE(A), and MUN(H). Van Hecke is the DEFCON pick if you wish to go there. Brighton have kept 4 clean sheets over the last 8 games- Highest among all teams during this time. In fact, they are 1st for xGC/90 and 2nd for Big Chances Conceded/90 during this run.

Midfielders:

  • Bruno Fernandes is the standard no-brainer pick in FPL GW35 Wildcard, considering the form he is in, having returned in every single game since GW28- 2 goals, 8 assists, 59 Points in 7 games.
  • Cherki is the Manchester City midfielder in this draft. He is still a Differential at just 12.2% TSB compared to Semenyo, who is 51.0% TSB. In recent weeks, Cherki has been in good form and has even better underlying data than Semenyo. Cherki has 2 double-digit hauls in the last 3 games.

Cherki vs Semenyo since GW28:

  • Shots – 18 vs 14
  • Shots inside the box – 15 vs 10
  • Big Chances – 2 vs 2
  • Chances created – 18 vs 4
  • Big Chances created – 4 vs 2
  • xGI – 3.6 vs 2.1
  • Goal Involvements- 4 vs 2
  • Eze comes into this draft with Arsenal chasing the Premier League title on goal difference. Eze scored the only goal in the 1-0 win vs Newcastle in GW34.
  • Okafor has 2 double-digit hauls from the last 3 games with 3 goals, 1 assist, and 31 points during this run. With fixtures against teams that concede a lot of goals in the next 4 matches, like Burnley, West Ham, and Tottenham, Okafor is a worthy differential for the end-of-season run-in.

Even with the slight injury concern, he is definitely worth a shout with the form he is in.

If you’re not keen on Okafor due to the injury concern, you could swap him out for Sarr or go for someone like Hinshelwood or even Harry Wilson.

  • Dewsbury Hall rounds up the midfield with 2 goals, 1 assist, and 23 Points from the last 3 matches. Coming in at just 5.1 million, He is the perfect midfield enabler if you can bench him in GW35 vs Man City. Post which he plays Palace(A), Sunderland(H), and Tottenham(A), which are all good fixtures. He has returned in each of the last 3 fixtures. He also has decent DEFCON potential with his DEFCON data from the last 4 games reading as – 10, 11, 10, 10. Even though he hasn’t hit the threshold, he is very close consistently, and a DEFCON return might as well be there soon.

Forwards:

  • We have gone for Gyokeres as the Arsenal attacker in this draft. He’s a decent shout, especially if you’re looking for a differential forward, and was on the scoresheet against Atletico Madrid in the UCL Semifinals. It’s still unclear when Havertz will be back after being substituted in GW34 with a muscular niggle, so Gyokeres minutes are looking good too.
  • Haaland, who is the highest scoring player this season with 212 points, picks himself, especially with a double gameweek coming up and the Premier League title race very much open.
  • Bowen has been in great form over the last few gameweeks, he’s picked up 9 assists in the last 9 games and is the highest scoring forward during the period with 54 points. West Ham are in a battle to avoid relegation, and Bowen is key to the Hammers avoiding relegation this season.

Projected Bench Boost in GW36:

Projected Bench Boost in GW36:
  • 5 Double Gameweek players for DGW36 without making any transfers. You can get in Sarr/another Palace to make it 6 DGW players.

FPL GW35 Wildcard Draft 2: GW35 Wildcard, GW36 Bench Boost

Draft 2: FPL GW35 Wildcard, GW36 Bench Boost
  • This draft is slightly different from the first one, with triple Crystal Palace (Hendo, Lacroix & Sarr), which will get you six doublers in GW36.
  • If you want a third Arsenal player, you could go for Eze in place of Rogers. (Might have to do Lacroix to Canvot in that case, based on your team value)
