In this blog, we take a look at the Pros & Cons of FPL GW32 Wildcard, the Ideal FPL GW32 Wildcard team, Drafts, and the Players to Target in your Gameweek 32 Wildcard team.

FPL GW32 Wildcard Guide
Pros & Cons of Wildcarding in FPL GW32:

Pros:
- For managers with both Wildcard, free hit, and bench boost left, a wildcard in GW32 provides an opportunity to bench boost in GW33 with six teams doubling. The free hit can then be used in blank gameweek 34 when the same six teams blank.
- There are only seven more gameweeks left in the season, a wildcard now will help you attack the remaining gameweeks to try and gain ranks.
- For managers who took a few punts in GW30-31, like selling Haaland, getting Salah, loading upon Liverpool assets, a Wildcard in GW32 helps fix those issues.
- Managers with a few free transfers saved up can attack the double and then get back Arsenal assets who have great fixtures till the end of the season, and also get Crystal Palace assets (Munoz, Sarr) for their likely double in GW36.
Cons:
- Arsenal not doubling in GW33 makes things trickier, they still have great fixtures from now till the end of the season.
- Man City playing Chelsea in GW32 means you’ll have six players in your Wildcard team playing each other, which is not ideal. If it’s not a high-scoring game, then the chances of a red arrow would be high.
- Not a lot of midfielder options to consider on the Wildcard from the teams doubling.
- Most teams doubling in GW33 have at least one tricky fixture, which is not great from a defensive perspective. EX: City have Arsenal & Burnley, etc.
- If you don’t have a few transfers saved, then you’ll have to take a conservative approach of having a few non-doublers in your team, like Bruno, Gabriel, Sarr, etc., to be better prepared for GW35-38, including the likely double in GW36.
Other windows to play Wildcard:
- Wildcard in GW35 and Bench boost in GW36 (Free Hit in GW33)
- Wildcard in GW33, Free Hit in 34, Bench Boost in 35/36
- Free Hit in GW33, Wildcard in GW34, Bench Boost in GW35, Triple Captain in GW36
Players to Target on FPL GW32 Wildcard:

Teams doubling in GW33: Man City, Burnley, Chelsea, Brighton, Leeds, and Bournemouth (Same six teams will blank in GW34)
Other than DGW33, Man City & Crystal Palace are very likely to double in GW36.
- Goalkeepers: Verbruggen, Petrovic, Darlow, Dubravka
- Defenders: Van Hecke, Hill, Senesi, Nico O’Reilly, Struijk, Bijol, Rodon (If fit), Gabriel (If fit), Gusto, Cucurella, Kadฤฑoฤlu, Fofana
- Midfielders: Palmer, Semenyo, Gross, Bruno, Minteh, Stach (If fit), Tavernier, Rayan, Cherki
- Forwards: Welbeck, Calvert Lewin, Haaland, Joao Pedro, Evanilson
Note: If you don’t have a free hit, you’ll also have to consider teams & players that don’t blank in GW34 (Arsenal, Newcastle, Man United, Brentford, etc.) and Crystal Palace assets who’ll most likely double in GW36.
FPL GW32 Wildcard Drafts
Draft 1: GW32 Wildcard, GW33 Bench Boost, GW34 Free Hit

- This draft has 13 doublers plus Gabriel & Bruno Fernandes. Gabriel is still essential till the end of the season, and it doesn’t make sense to sell him and get him back in GW35. Bruno is in fine form and is also a great captaincy shout in GW32, facing Leeds at home. In DGW33, he’ll face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Blues haven’t been defensively strong under Rosenior, and it’s not a bad fixture at all.
- Nick O’Reilly, Semenyo, and Haaland are a no-brainer triple up from Man City. The Blues put in a strong performance against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinals, with heavy involvement from all three of our Wildcard assets.
- Brighton are one of the teams that has a good fixture in GW32 that also doubles in GW33. The seagulls face Burnley in GW32 and have Spurs and Chelsea in DGW33. We have Verbruggen, Van Hecke, and Gross as our Brighton triple-up.

- Van Hecke is good for DEFCONs and also has a decent aerial threat, he is top for DEFCONs amongst Brighton players. Alternatively, Kadฤฑoฤlu is a decent shout too from Brighton’s defence.
- Gross is a decent budget enabler, he always does well in BPS and should start both the games in the double, which is not the case for Minteh, whose xMins is not that great.

- Note: We have not gone for Gomez because he’s on nine yellow cards, and if he gets one in GW32 vs Burnley, then he’ll be suspended for the double with a two-game suspension.

- The draft also has two Bournemouth assets, Hill and Tavernier. Since starting a game for the first time this season in GW19, Hill has the most DEFCONs & DEFCON points amongst defenders, hitting DC points in 9/13 games.

- Tavernier is also a decent option at his price point. He has been unfortunate not to return in the last couple of games. In the last four games, he is 3rd for xGI amongst midfielders but has got only one assist during the period.
- Although do note that he might not be 100% on penalties with Kroupi taking the last one, Tavernier could still take the next one, but it’s not guaranteed.
- We have gone for two Chelsea attackers, Palmer and Joao Pedro, in this draft. Joao Pedro has been in red-hot form since the arrival of Rosenior, since GW22 Joao Pedro has the most goals (8) in the league and 2nd for FPL points (80), only behind Bruno (83). Palmer has had a quiet season so far, but it’s a wildcard, and you have to take a few punts.
- From Leeds, we have got a triple up of Darlow, Bijol, and DCL. Do note: Stach & Rodon picked up injuries in the FA Cup win against West Ham, and that’s why we haven’t considered them in this draft. DCL is one of the seven forwards this season with 10 or more goals, he’s also on penalties and offers great value. It’s a 50/50 between Bijol and Strujik, Leeds defence is quite solid, and hence why the double up.
Draft 2: GW32 Wildcard, GW33 Bench Boost, GW34 Free Hit

- Pretty similar draft to the above one, with only a few changes.
- You’ll have 12 doublers and three single gameweek players (Sarr, Gabriel, Bruno) in DGW33.
- Welbeck is in this draft instead of Calvert Lewin, and Sarr is in place of Gross. Crystal Palace have a decent fixture in GW33 against West Ham, and they will most likely double in GW36 too.
- Cherki is also in place of Semenyo as a punt in this draft.
Draft 3: GW32 Wildcard, GW34 Free Hit

- This draft is for managers who don’t have the bench boost left and are on a wildcard GW32 and free hit GW34 strategy.
- This draft gives you nine doublers in DGW33, and you can make it to 11 doublers too if needed by downgrading Sarr to Gross and Munoz to another defender(Struijik/Bijol/Cucurella/Fofana). The Goalkeeper can be switched from Valdimarsson to Henderson for Palace cover ahead of their likely double in GW36.
Projection for DGW33:

Draft 4: GW32 Wildcard, No Free Hit or Bench Boost

- This draft is for managers who have only Wildcard left and no free hit to cover blank gameweek 34
- You’ll have eight doublers for GW33 and seven players for blank gameweek for GW34. You can field 9 players for BGW34 with two free transfers (Assuming you have no FTs saved)
- If needed, you can take a hit or two to field 10 or 11 players. For managers with free transfers saved, you can use those and field a full 11, too.
Writer’s note: Wildcard is always a team-dependent chip, if you’re still confused on when to play it, go with the best option for your team. Good luck!
