Top FPL GW31 Differential Picks to Target Ahead of Deadline

The Differential Article had a poor week, with only 1 of our 6 picks returning with FPL Points. This week, we will be aiming to continue with some strong scores this Gameweek.

  • Michael Kayode  – 1 Goal, 1 Bonus – 8 Points

That makes it 74/180 Picks who have returned FPL Points from our picks this Season. In this article, we will be highlighting 5 Players who are less than 10% Owned and 1 Ultra Differential (less than 1% Owned) for all of you as of Wednesday, 18th March, 2026. There are many more whom you guys can consider if you decide not to go with the 6 players mentioned below.

Gameweek 31, being a Blank Gameweek, could reward the Managers who take a leap of faith on some lowly owned Assets, which makes this week’s article even more relevant.

Top FPL GW31 Differential Picks

Anthony Gordon – Newcastle United – 7.3 Midfielder – 5.7 % TSB

  • Is he finally converting his midweek form this season to the Premier League? He has been a great option for UCL Fantasy managers, but has had an underwhelming season so far with only 5 Goals and 4 Assists in the League. However, he has had 2 Goals in the last 2 Gameweeks. With a local derby up next, Gordon should be fired up for revenge after their loss earlier this season.
FPL GW31 Differential - Gordon
Gordon has the highest xG amongst midfielders between GW26-30
Stats from stats.allaboutfpl.com(Fully Free)
  • Recently, he has been playing as an OOP Forward, and that has led to an increasing attacking output. Gordon also has penalties in his locker, and his minutes have been going up with each passing Gameweek. Gordon ranks top for xGI and xG and 2nd best for xA among all Newcastle players this season.
  • Sunderland rank in the Bottom 3 for Shots conceded, and Shots in the Box conceded. They also look weak defensively without Mukiele and Roefs. They also rank the 8th worst for xGC, and it has mostly been Roefs heroics that have kept things tight at the back. Sunderland are also in a poor run of form as they have lost 4 and drawn 1 of their last 6 Gameweeks.

Joachim Andersen – Fulham – 4.5 Defender – 6.0 % TSB

  • Andersen has now earned Defcon points in 17 games this season, which is the 4th best in the League. He has earned an additional 2 points in 63% of the games he has played this season.
FPL GW31 Differential - Andersen
Stats from stats.allaboutfpl.com(Fully Free)
  • He has been unlucky to only get a single Assist this season as he has underperformed both his xG (1.26) and his xA (1.55). He has had 3 Shots on Target, 9 Shots in the Box, and 2 Big Chances. He has also created 3 Big Chances and played 6 key passes for his teammates.
  • He also has a great chance of a Clean Sheet this Gameweek as Fulham face Burnley, a team that is ranked bottom for Shots, Shots in the Box, Shots on Target, xG, and Big Chances.
  • Andersen also loves a headed goal, and keep in mind that Burnley have conceded the 2nd most attempts from set pieces this season.

Raul Jimenez – Fulham – 6.2 Forward – 3.2 % TSB

  • Jimenez may not be the safest pick, due to his minutes risk and early subs, but he could get a haul against Burnley this Gameweek. Burnley have conceded the most Shots, Shots in the Box, Shots on Target, Big Chances, non-penalty xG, xG, and Goals in the league, and are an opposition striker’s dream matchup.
  • Raul has scored 8 Goals and got 5 assists this season, and has got the most xGI (11.05), xG (10.18), and the 2nd most Goal contributions for Fulham this season.
FPL GW31 Differential - Raul
Stats from stats.allaboutfpl.com(Fully Free)
  • He has had 17 Shots on Target, 51 Shots in the box, and 15 Big Chances. He could add to these numbers this Gameweek with the tasty matchup against Burnley.

Morgan Gibbs White – Nottingham Forest – 7.4 Midfielder – 5.1 % TSB

  • Gibbs White has quietly reached Double Digits for attacking returns this season with 8 Goals and 2 Assists. He ranks Top for xGI (9.81) and xG(7.69) among the Forest players.
FPL GW31 Differential - Gibbs White
Stats from stats.allaboutfpl.com(Fully Free)
  • He has had 22 Shots on Target, 38 Shots in the box, and 11 Big Chances this season. He also has been playing much closer to the goal recently, and that has led to 2 Goals in the last 3 Games.
  • Forest face a Spurs team that has been performing horribly, especially defensively. They are ranked Bottom for Goals conceded (23), 2nd bottom for xGC (19.45), Non Penalty xG (18.3), and Shots in the Box conceded.
  • They are also ranked in the Bottom 5 for Shots on Target conceded and Big Chances conceded. With this game being a relegation 6-pointer, both teams would be looking to go for it, which could make it a good game for the attackers from both sides.

Mallick Thiaw – Newcastle United – 5.0 Defender – 6.5 % TSB

  • Thiaw is 1 of 4 Defenders who have scored 4 times this season. He ranks 3rd best for xG among Defenders and 6th best for xGI this season. Thiaw has also done well for Defensive Contributions this season, as he has earned the additional 2 points in 11 of the 26 games he has started. He averages close to 9 Defensive Contributions per game.
FPL GW31 Differential - Thiaw
Stats from stats.allaboutfpl.com(Fully Free)
  • Over the last 5 Gameweeks, Thiaw has earned Defcon in 4 of the 5 Games and has also earned a solid 28 FPL points. Sunderland have been struggling recently and have only won a single game in the last 6 Games.
  • Over the last 10 Gameweeks, Sunderland are in the Bottom 5 for all attacking metrics. Sunderland rank bottom for Shots, 2nd bottom for Shots on Target, 3rd bottom for Shots in the Box and Non Penalty xG, and 5th bottom for Big Chances and xG.

Ultra Differential Pick for FPL GW31 (Under 1 % Ownership)

Taty Castellanos – West Ham – 5.5 Forward –  0.1 % TSB

  • Since Taty’s introduction to the West Ham team in Gameweek 21, West Ham have had an uptick in form and have only lost 3 Games. In that time, he has scored twice and got an Assist. Over that time period, he has had 8 Shots on Target, 19 Shots in the Box, and 6 Big Chances. He ranks 3rd best for xG over this period among West Ham players. His role has also led to better performances for Bowen and Summerville.
FPL GW31 Ultra Differential - Taty
Stats from stats.allaboutfpl.com(Fully Free)
  • Villa have been struggling for some time now, and over the last 2 Gameweeks have only won twice. They have drawn 3 Games and lost the other 5.
  • Also, in the last 3 games, Villa have conceded 9 Goals against fellow Champions League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea. They also conceded two to Wolves and look devoid of confidence. West Ham are the opposite and should be the favorite to win this game.

That’s it for Gameweek 31. We will be back with 6 More Differentials next Gameweek, where we will be hoping to get some positive returns from our current selected Differentials for Gameweek 31.
