We come back to Blank Gameweek 31 with City, Arsenal and Palace all blanking which opens up some really enticing options for captaincy this Gameweek.

Bruno Fernandes tops the captaincy poll this week with 46% of the votes against Bournemouth (A). Wilson is second with 16% of the votes. Gordon is third in the captaincy poll this week with 7% of the votes. Igor Thiago, who is up against Leeds (A), is 4th, while Ekitike rounds up the captaincy picks for GW31.

Underlying Numbers of the FPL Gameweek 31 Captain Picks

Igor Thiago tops the table with 15 shots in the box, 8 Big chances, and an xG of 4.30 in the last six games.
Gordon is 2nd with an xG of 3.44 in the last six games. He’s also had 4 big chances and 10 shots inside the box.
Ekitike is 3rd with an xG of 2.28 in the last six games. He’s had 4 big chances and has had 12 shots inside the box.
Bruno Fernandes stands 4th with an xG of 1.76, managing 3 shots inside the box and 2 big chances in total.
Finally, Wilson stands last with an xG of 0.90 and 7 shots inside the box and 1 big chance.

Liverpool take the top spot and have registered 11.35 xG, 17 Big Chances, and 70 Shots inside the box in the last six games.
Newcastle are up next with 53 shots inside the box and 12 big chances during the period, and an xG of 10.27.
Brentford are third with 49 shots inside the box and 22 big chances during the period, and an xG of 10.10
Fulham are fourth with 62 shots inside the box and 12 big chances during the period, and an xG of 9.47.
Lastly, Manchester United are fifth with 54 shots inside the box and 16 big chances during the period, with an xG of 8.36.

Fixture Difficulty of the Candidate Team in FPL GW31

In the Third Phase of the Article, we look at the Fixture Difficulty of our 5 Candidates.
We will use DraftHound’s odds for a Team scoring at least one goal in the Gameweek and the Odds of scoring more than 2.0 goals in the Gameweek as a whole.
Newcastle have 86% odds to get at least one goal and 37% odds to get 2 or more Goals this Gameweek vs Sunderland (H).
Liverpool are 2nd with 81% odds of at least 1 goal in this Gameweek vs Brighton (A) and 23% odds of scoring 2 or more goals.
Brentford are 3rd with 81% odds of at least 1 goal in this Gameweek vs Leeds (A) and 22% odds of scoring 2 or more goals.
Manchester United are 4th with 78% odds of at least 1 goal in this Gameweek vs Bournemouth (A) and 19% odds of scoring 2 or more goals.
Fulham are last with 78% odds of at least 1 goal in this Gameweek vs Burnley (H) and 18% odds of scoring 2 or more goals.

In the fourth phase of the article, I used the Anytime Returns and Projected Points tools available at Fantasy Football Hub. With the help of the Anytime Returns Tool, I have derived the Safety Rank, which helps in determining the Safest Captaincy Option of the week, while I have used the Projected Points Tool to determine the Explosion Rank, which helps in determining the Most Explosive Option of the week.
Bruno Fernandes is first with an anytime returns projection of 53% and a 5.8 points projection in FPL Gameweek 31 vs Bournemouth (A).
Harry Wilson is also joint first with an anytime returns projection of 51% and a 5.9 points projection in FPL Gameweek 31 vs Burnley (H).
Gordon is third with an anytime returns projection of 49% and a 5.4 points projection in FPL Gameweek 31 vs Sunderland (H).
Thiago is fourth with an anytime returns projection of 49% and a 5.1 points projection in FPL Gameweek 31 vs Leeds (A).
Ekitike finally has an anytime returns projection of 48% with a points projection of 5.1.

Anthony Gordon is at top of the captaincy metrics with a cumulative rank factor of 8. Ekitike and Thiago are joint second with a CRF value of 11. Bruno Fernandes is fourth with a CRF value of 14 and Harry Wilson is last with a CRF value 15.
