GW30 produced 9 Clean Sheets – the highest this season since GW5, and at the same time, the 6 Premier League teams conceded a combined 30 goals across the 12 Champions League Round of 16 matches.
Staying with defence, in 2026, the highest-scoring defender is also the costliest (Gabriel). The second-highest scoring defender (Hill) is the cheapest.
And that, my friends, is the truth… it’s quite a paradoxical world we live in. Half of it is black, the other half white… and you know what you get when you combine the two? A football. So in short, life is football, football is life.

On that philosophical note, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for this GW, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want.

FPL Gameweek 31 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
Harry Wilson (£6.0m) – MID, Fulham – 24.7% TSB
A lot of praise is being sung for Bruno Fernandes — and rightly so. But here’s the interesting bit:

Stats from stats.allaboutfpl.com(Fully Free)
Since GW10, while Bruno has scored 136 points (The highest amongst all players), Wilson is second with a staggering 120 points — that’s 88% of Bruno’s output at just 59% of the cost.
This is where it becomes more appealing:-

16 of those points came in one game (Burnley, GW16)…
And guess who Wilson plays this week? The same opposition — this time at home.
Harry Wilson vs Current Bottom 5 teams: 7 Games, 4 Goals, 4 Assists, 58 Points
He also has decent creative numbers, he has created 0.84 Big Chances/90 (4th highest in the last 5 Gameweeks) and averaged 1.39 key passes/90. He also has decent goal threat with 0.37 xGi/90 and 1.05 shots/90.
Don’t overthink it. He should be your numero uno priority.

Joachim Andersen (£4.6m) – DEF, Fulham – 7.3% TSB
If Wilson looks like points up front, Andersen offers the same promise at the back.
Burnley rank 20th for pretty much every attacking metric:
- Shots
- Shots on Target
- Shots in the Box
- Big Chances
- xG
Fulham are coming off a clean sheet away at Forest, while Burnley haven’t scored in their last two.
Andersen has also been a defcon monster the entire season, where in 27 games, he has crossed the threshold 17 times, while averaging 10+ defcons throughout the season. In total, he is the 4th highest DEFCON point accumulator. He also loves a headed goal, and keep in mind that Burnley have conceded the 2nd most attempts from set pieces this season.

This looks as straightforward as it gets for Andersen.

FPL Gameweek 31 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD
Antoine Semenyo (£8.2m) – MID, Man City – 50.3% TSB
This one is controversial — and I’m happy to take the bullets.
Semenyo is the most transferred-out midfielder this GW, and understandably so — City blank.

But zoom out: over the last 8 GWs, he’s the second-highest scoring midfielder after Bruno.
Yes, there’s a blank. But there’s also value tied up, especially for those who’ve held him long-term. Is it worth losing that for one GW?
Probably not.
City are now out of the UCL and will fully focus on chasing Arsenal to the title. A Double Gameweek could also be around the corner in GW33 if they beat Liverpool in the FA Cup QFs.
Hold, especially if you don’t have a wildcard to use in GW32 to prepare for DGW33.

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.6m) – MID, Man Utd – 22.8% TSB
If we leave out the Man City and Arsenal stars and injured players, Mbeumo is the most transferred-out player this GW.
The frustration is understandable. 3 blanks in a row is tough to justify for a player valued at more than £8.5m. But then, if we look zoom out a little and look at the previous 7 fixtures (GW22-27), Mbeumo was the highest scoring Man Utd player in FPL.
The last match between Man Utd and Bournemouth saw 8 goals scored. So I won’t rule out goals aplenty in this fixture.
At a time when free transfers are more precious than diamonds, I would urge you to have some faith on the Cameroonian and hold him for a week.

FPL Gameweek 30 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Trevoh Chalobah (£5.5m) – DEF, Chelsea – 16.4% TSB
Chalobah was carried off the pitch in the closing stages against PSG, having gone over on his ankle at an awkward angle, and is now expected to be out for six weeks.

It is suggested, hence, to sell him and get someone like Andersen if you’re planning on wildcarding in GW32.

Marc Guéhi (£5.1m) – DEF, Man City – 31.9% TSB
The 3rd most owned defender in the league, Guéhi, has returned only 2 Clean Sheets in his last 7 league games.
He has a blank this week.
Up next for Man City, there’s:
- Arsenal – EFL Cup Final
- Liverpool – FA Cup Quarter Final
- Chelsea – EPL
- Arsenal – EPL
- Burnley – EPL(*Potential double not confirmed, depends on FA Cup results)
Rotation will be extremely high, and the probability of clean sheets will be extremely low.
Hence, it is wise to sell him now in case there’s a choice between City/ Arsenal assets. Please note, it is a soft sell only, not a compulsion. If you don’t have a wildcard & have other issues with your team, then it might be worth holding for the potential double in GW33.
