FPL Gameweek 28 Review
Gameweek 28 was a bit of an average week for me. I would say it is a bit disappointing as there were a few missed opportunities too. I managed to score 68 points, which was also the Safety score for me. Resultantly, I went from 663k to 652k, I would count it as a grey arrow really. The move I did turned out to be a bit sideways, as Van Dijk scored a goal, who I transferred in, as did Timber who I transferred out.
I am still happy about the move since it removes a blank GW31 player and gives me a solid player until the planned Wildcard in 32. Haaland no show meant Bruno vice-captain came through. Whether I got lucky or not is up for debate, but I would think Haaland would not have scored as much looking at how the match against Leeds turned out. So yeah, I would term it lucky.
Dango and Thiago came through with one attacking returns each in a really exciting game. As did Rice, although he is a bit of a doubt for GW29. Enzo and Rogers again blanked and owning them is becoming very frustrating, the fixtures were there, just not the scores.
FPL GW29 Preview
There could be a ton of issues in this team, or none. It all depends on the fitness news on Rice and Haaland really. And so do my transfer plans. If we get news that both Haaland and Rice are out, I am really set on getting Liverpool duo Ekitike and Salah for a hit. It’s for sure risky, but it has a lot of upside and Salah is a massive differential. But of a nostalgia pick now maybe, but he is FPL Gold, and when the going gets tough, you just invest in Gold..
If Haaland is fine, I would get rid of Rice irrespective of his fitness. And I would have my hands full with the options. The obvious choice would be Harry Wilson, considering he is available after his own injury in the win against Tottenham. If fit, Wilson would be my pick.
In case Wilson is out, then I would have to give it a long hard think between Szoboszlai, Tavernier and Schade. At this point in time, I am leaning towards Tavernier solely for penalties. I don’t like Szoboszlai as much, but he keeps getting points. As for Schade, I like it, but does Brentford attack really warrant a triple up? Over-investment puts me off a bit but that could be something I need to boost up the rankings.
Injury Updates ahead of FPL GW29:
- Arteta on Rice: “I hope so (he is going to be fine) He was much better today. Obviously, we haven’t really trained because we have only two days to prepare the game. So, hopefully, he’s going to be better tomorrow.”
- Pep on Haaland’s fitness: “He feels much better, but yesterday we didn’t train and now we have training. We’ll decide today…”
- Marco Silva on team news: (via @jackellyffc) “Joachim Andersen will be back in 100% sure. Harry Wilson is one of the players we have to keep assessing. Let’s see.”
For captaincy, I like Haaland the best, if fit. If not, I do not mind putting the armband on Salah after getting him in. At the moment, Haaland is going nowhere.
