With Wirtz and Kayode both missing out in FPL GW27, our team didn’t deliver a huge points total, but we go again in GW28!
Our Scout Picks team’s total of 36 was not enough to beat the Official Scout Picks score of 42 in FPL GW26. We remain 3 points ahead of the Official Scout Picks going into FPL GW28.

FPL GW28 Scout Picks – Goalkeeper
Kelleher (4.7m) is our choice for FPL GW28 with Brentford facing Burnley away from home. Burnley are consistently putting up some of the worst attacking numbers in the league and remain rock bottom of the xG table. While Parker’s side have picked up a few unexpected results of late, and have indeed scored 3 goals in their last two matches, their underlying numbers have not yet improved. In their recent draw against Chelsea, Burnley benefited from some poor marking at a corner but created little else across the 90. What’s more, in their 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace, they created just 0.69xG. Don’t be fooled by the results!
Brentford on the other hand have the sixth best xGA in the league and have impressed FPL managers and fans alike with their astute defensive performances in many games this year. Kelleher is the fifth highest scoring goalkeeper in FPL, and is a popular pick for those on a WC this week due to an attractive upcoming fixture run!

FPL GW28 Scout Picks – Defenders
Gabriel (7.1m), VVD (6.0m) and O’Reilly (5.0m) make up our back three for FPL GW28…
Gabriel naturally keeps his place in the team as Arsenal’s defensive record remains pretty perfect. Individual errors have let the Gunners down in recent weeks, with Rice’s mistake leading to a CS wipe against Spurs in GW28. Nonetheless, it would take a brave man to go ‘Arsenal-defender-less’ in FPL GW28, even if their fixture against Chelsea is by no means an easy one…
Virgil also keeps a spot in the team following another CS and another goal involvement. Liverpool were pretty poor against Forest last weekend, especially in the first half, but Virgil and his teammates managed to step it up somewhat in the second half and clinch a victory in additional time. Despite the poor performance, Liverpool were fairly untroubled by a Forest side who created less than 1xG worth of chances. That’s two CS in two matches for the Reds, and with West Ham up next I don’t think many people would be surprised to see them secure another one.
Top Defenders for FPL Points over the last 6 Gameweeks:
O’Reilly comes into the team for FPL GW28 in an attempt to chase last weeks FPL points… The City ‘defender’ has been deployed as a midfielder in recent weeks, and a pretty advanced one too, chipping in with 2 goals in FPL GW27 and 1 goal in FPL GW26! As we all know, a defender playing out-of-position further up the pitch is gold dust in FPL, and O’Reilly offers a great way into the City midfield/attack at just 5.0m.
City face Leeds away in FPL GW28 in what could be a consequential fixture for both ends of the table. City will be keen to keep the pressure on title rivals Arsenal by extending their winning run to four games, while Leeds will be looking to take their winless run to four games. City limited Newcastle to just 0.51xG in their 2-1 victory over the magpies in FPL GW27, and the sky blues are still clearly the second best defensive team in the league having conceded the second fewest goals and xG. O’Reilly’s attacking capacity is what renders him such a good FPL option, but a CS could definitely be on the cards too!

FPL GW28 Scout Picks – Midfielders
We’ve selected a midfield four of Wilson (5.9m), Semenyo (8.1m), Rogers (7.7m) and Bruno (9.9m) for FPL GW28…
Fulham face Spurs in FPL GW28, a side dubbed some as ‘the worst team in the league this calander year’ – harsh. Sometimes the truth is harsh however, and Spurs are indeed bottom of the 2026 league table having picked up just 4 points since 1st January. Tottenham have also conceded the most goals since the start of the year (18 in just 9 matches) and boast pretty poor underlying numbers too. Spurs are in a hole at the moment, and their opponents in FPL GW28 will no doubt look to capitalise…
Wilson has been a revelation this season and, though his form is somewhat patchy, the welshman has solidified himself as a great FPL option. Wilson has just 2 goal involvements in his last 5 premier league matches, though it must be pointed out that his underlying numbers have remained consistent. The winger has the ability to score from any distance, and has demonstrated an ability to produce moments of magic in big games. We’re backing him against this woeful spurs side in FPL GW28!
Top Midfielders for FPL Points since GW13:
Semenyo joins Wilson in the team for FPL GW28 as we work our way towards our City triple up. Semenyo failed to register a goal involvement against Newcastle last weekend but did still threaten, taking 3 shots and created 2 chances across his 87 minutes on the pitch. Semenyo has been in electric form since joining City in January, and remains a fantastic FPL option for GW28 and beyond. Leeds will be a tough test, but Semenyo’s direct running and dribbling may well prove key in breaking down Farke’s stubborn defense.
FACT: Semenyo hit the Defcon threshold for the third time this season against Newcastle in FPL GW27
Rogers keeps a spot in the team despite a second successive FPL blank… The englishman took just 2 shots and created just 1 chance against Leeds in GW27 and failed to have much impact on the game at all. Nonetheless, with an attractive fixture against bottom of the league Wolves in FPL GW28, we’re sticking with him again!
Wolves have looked better in recent weeks, but are winless since 3rd of January. Their attack has looked much better since the turn of the year, but they continue to struggle defensively, having conceded 8 goals in their last 5 premier league matches. Opposition teams have created 2+ xG against wolves in 4 of their last 5 premier league fixtures, a damning stat which illustrates their structural frailties.
Bruno Fernandes completes the midfield for FPL GW28. Bruno also blanked for the second successive GW last weekend, failing to produce much for his side in United’s 0-1 victory over Everton. Bruno created 0 chances and had just 1 shot (from outside the box), in what was a fairly stale United performance all-round.
We are sure that that match was an outlier, however, as Bruno has created 4+ chances in all of his three previous fixtures in the league – it was surely a blip. Mbeumo and Sesko are proving decent FPL differentials in this moment, but for now we’re sticking with the tried and tested Bruno Fernandes.

FPL GW28 Scout Picks – Forwards
Haaland (14.8m), Raul (6.1m) and Thiago (7.1m) complete the team…
Haaland is back! Following a 4 GW absence from our scout picks team, the Robot has forced his way back into our plans. 5 goal involvements in his last 4 games suggests that Haaland may be returning to his best form after a somewhat poor few weeks over Christmas. When Haaland is on form he is a force to be reckoned with, so we’re jumping back on the hype-train early so as not to miss out…
Raul Jimenez comes into the team after a superb performance in FPL GW27 in which he picked up 11 points for his team. 2 goals in FPL GW27 and 4 GI in his last 4 matches – Raul is in solid form. While Wilson will naturally be a more popular pick for this fixture against Spurs, Jimenez should not be overlooked as a secondary or differential option.
Since GW23 the mexican has put up very good underlying numbers, and he has been delivering points on a semi-regular basis for some time now. At just 6.1m Jimenez is a great budget option, and one to consider for this very attractive fixture against Tottenham in FPL GW28.
Thiago is the final piece of the puzzle for this AAFPL GW28 Scout Picks team. Brentford face Burnley in FPL GW28, a side that rank bottom of the league for goals against and expected GA. Since the start of the year Burnley rank second bottom for xGA and second bottom for GA – their defensive problems are real. Burnley have not kept a CS in the league since 27th December and will no doubt fear the arrival of Thiago this weekend…
The Brazilian striker has been monstrous for Brentford this season and sits behind only Haaland for goals in the league this season. His 0.73xG/90 is elite, and he should always be seen as a decent option for when the fixtures turn in Brentford’s favour. Outtara should also be a consideration for this fixture, but Thiago is clearly the premier attacking option for the Bees and is thus a great option for GW28.
