Welcome to this week’s Transfer Targets and Watchlist, where we look at a few players to target ahead of GW27 and also a few players to target and keep an eye on for the upcoming Gameweeks. The list has three players, one forward, defender, and midfielder each, who are expected to perform well this week, given both form and opposition, these will be “FPL GW27 Transfer Targets”. The list also contains one forward, defender, and midfielder each who should be on your watchlist for the upcoming Gameweeks, again, a combination of form and fixtures.

FPL GW27 Transfer Targets
James Hill – £4.0m – 3.2%
Starting FPL GW27 transfer targets list is the 4.0 million defender everyone seems to be talking about and for good reason. James Hill has returned in his last 4 games (where he played Liverpool (H), Wolves (A), Aston Villa (H) & Everton (A)) giving 3 assists and crossing Defcon threshold each time. In fact, he has the Highest Defcon in the league across positions in the last 4 Gameweeks.

Top Defenders for DEFCON since GW19:
Bournemouth has the best FDR in the next five Gameweeks with just a 2.40 rating, where they play West Ham (A), Sunderland (H), Brentford (H), Burnley (A) and Manchester United (H), a run where Hill can continue his impressive streak of point scoring.
If you’re looking for a cheap differential, get Hill before everyone else does!

Florian Wirtz – £8.4m – 13.7%
Ranked third on the FDR table for the next 5 Gameweeks, Liverpool face a favorable run of fixtures playing Nottingham (H), West Ham (H), Wolves (A), Tottenham (H) & Brighton (A). This run of fixtures making Florian Wirtz a very tempting option and hence he rightfully takes the 2nd spot in the FPL GW27 Transfer Targets list.
In his last 7 games, Wirtz has averaged six points a game, scoring 3 goals from a 2.06 xG & providing 1 assist from 1.76 xA. He has also picked up 8 bonus points in this run. With just 2 losses from their last 10 games, Liverpool & Wirtz seem to be getting back on track, both of whom had very slow starts to the season (However, it is important to know that in those 10 games they have also just won 4 despite playing only 4 of the current top 10 teams during this run).

With good fixture run & with him finally finding his feet in the premier league, Wirtz is a viable option for your team.

Igor Thiago – £7.0m – 30.2%
The true Ivan Toney replacement, the Brazilian striker Igor Thiago sums up the FPL GW27 Transfer Targets list. Joint 4th on the FDR list with an average rating of 2.60, Brentford have a run of favorable fixtures in the next 5 Gameweeks. They are coming off a tough fixture run where in the last 7 games, they faced a top table team in 5 of them.
With games against Brighton (H), Burnley (A), Bournemouth (A), Wolves (H) & Leeds (A), Igor Thiago’s time to shine again looks to have arrived. He has just 1 G/A in his last five games from an xGI of 2.2 and could be the possible reason behind 62,000 people transferring him out already. However, his 18 Goal Involvements in 25 appearances cannot be overlooked.

Among Forwards, Thiago is ranked only behind Haaland for all the attack metrics this season- Shots inside the box, Big Chances, xG, Goal Involvements, xGI and FPL Points.
Thiago’s next 5 Opponents xGC rank over the last 12 games- 9th, 20th, 19th, 17th, 18th. He plays four of the 5 worst defenses in the league in the upcoming Gameweeks and given the opportunity he can haul & is a certified captain option during this run.

FPL GW27 Wishlist
Amine Adli – £5.4m – 0.4%
Another Bournemouth player in the FPL GW27 Transfer Target and Wishlist list, Amine Adli, just like James Hill, has been fantastic in the last 5 Gameweeks. The Moroccan, who joined from Bayer Leverkusen, has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in his last 5 games, while also crossing the Defcon threshold once during this run.

- xG- 1.49 (2nd)
- xGI- 2.57 (1st)
- Big Chances- 4 (1st)
- Goal Involvements – 4 (Joint 1st)

Key Stat: Adli has 4 Big chances during this time with only Palmer having more Big Chances among Midfielders during this time.
Bournemouth has the best FDR in the next five Gameweeks with just a 2.40 rating, where they play West Ham (A), Sunderland (H), Brentford (H), Burnley (A) and Manchester United (H), and Adli, if he does continue to start, can have a big impact. He has become the central point of the attack with Evalinson, getting 4 big chances in a span of 5 games.
Having joined in August, Adli played only 429 minutes in the first 22 gameweeks, but he has finally been given the chance now and he has already shown why Xabi Alonso rated him. However, he is still new and he playing time may still be regulated, so watch out for that!

Dango Ouattara – £5.8m – 0.6%
Breaking a familiar pattern here , I have included two midfielders in the FPL GW27 Transfer Targets’ Wishlist section. This is solely because of how good the two have been recently and also the promise they show for the future.
Dango Ouattara has 3 G/A in his last 3 appearances this season from an xGi of 0.72. In this time span he has averaged 1.5 shots, 1.12 key passes and received on average 0.75 big chances per 90. With Brentford set to play Brighton (H), Burnley (A), Bournemouth (A), Wolves (H) & Leeds (A) in their next five, Ouattara can be a very cheap & effective differential going forward.

🔹Averages 0.79 Big Chances/90– Highest among Midfielders this season
🔹Averages 0.66 Goal Involvements/90– 5th Highest among Midfielders

Hugo Ekitiké – £8.9m – 25.5%
Last player on the FPL GW27 Transfer Targets & Wishlist column, we have Liverpool’s new star signing Huge Ekitike. The 23 year old has had a brilliant start to life at Merseyside where he has scored 10 and provided 2 assists in just 17 starts.
He has averaged 3.38 shots, 0.51 xG, 1.07 Big chances and 0.95 key passes per 90 this season. He has also taken the 4th most shots among strikers this season with 57 despite just 17 starts. His expected minutes are high and he should be nailed, but Slot does like to move his strikers around a bit, so there might be a couple of unexpected benchings here and there.
Ekitike could be set to repeat these brilliant stats in the upcoming Gameweeks, where Liverpool are ranked 3rd for the best FDR. They play Nottingham (A), West Ham (H), Wolves (A), Tottenham (H) & Brighton (A) in their next give, all of which are either teams with leaky defences or their manager has recently been sacked.
