FPL GW25 Review

A much better Gameweek in terms of scores and we have not had one of these in a long while. I got a very small green arrow that should really be considered a grey arrow, as I went from 609k to 591k.

The theme of my defenders conceding late goals continued as Rodon conceded an 87th minute goal to Nottingham Forest, while Leeds were already leading 3-0. Just how the cookie crumbles sometimes..

Bruno captain worked out well, although Haaland was a point better off, but we really do not need to fuss about a point on captaincy. Thiago scored but could not manage any bonus points, Rogers came through nicely out of the game against Bournemouth with a 10 pointer (goal and 3 bonus points) and Gabriel and Rice managed clean sheet points and DC returns respectively.

The team does not look as bad as it did a few weeks ago, now especially when I can finally triple up on Arsenal again for their double in Gameweek 26..

FPL GW26 Team Reveal

Since it’s a Double Gameweek for the league leaders, the natural thing is to go in with the 3 of the best options into the DGW. Since I am on 2, I am looking to add an Arsenal player for obvious reasons. For me, Jurrien Timber is the one to go for. He has been very unlucky to not score in recent weeks and I am confident of starts in both games. Since the FA Cup tie against Wigan is between the 2 league games against Brentford and Wolves (both away), I can see Arteta benching most of his first team against Wigan to start everyone he prefers in the league.

The next question is, who goes out? Rodon, Thiaw and Tarkowski all 3 can go to be honest, but at the moment, I feel like Rodon is the one that will make way. Tarkowski has playable fixtures in GW26 (vs Bournemouth (H)) and in GW29 (vs Burnley (H)), he is surely keeping his place over the other 2. Thiaw probably has just 1 playable fixture in Gw28 (vs Everton (H)) and I may still chance it vs Spurs (A) this week. However, Rodon’s next 3 look really tough and I do not see myself playing him in those games at all. Naturally, he is the one on the chopping block, as thing stand.

Triple Captain- GW26 or save for later?

I will now talk about the Triple Captain chip. I won’t be lying that I do not fancy playing my TC chip on a defender in a DGW, even though defenders are much better this season than ever and Gabriel is as much of an attacker as a defender. However, if I keep my TC chip for later, it will have to be a DGW. The other 2 DGWs this season are probably going to be GW33 and GW36. I am planning to play my WC in GW32 and BB in the following week in GW33. So that leaves us with DGW36 possibly. There is a decent chance that City make it into the FA Semi finals and resultantly, have 2 DGWs, one in DGW33 and one in DGW36. However, my only issue is that there is a scenario where the league might already be done by then and City may look to focus on UCL and FA cup instead (if alive by then) and may not play their best side twice in 3-4 days. It’s a bit of a long shot, but as an FPL manager, sometimes you have to think long term to make short term decisions.

At this point of time, I am 50-50 on the TC Chip and will be updating the readers regarding it before the deadline..

Update – 10/02/2026 -16:28 GMT (1 hour before deadline)

The team is set and the Chip is active! Triple captain chip on Gabriel. Rodon to Timber being the move this week. Good luck all!
