FPL GW24 Review
When I wrote the article last week, I mentioned that my defence looks to be in trouble this Gameweek and it was brutal. Got a total of 15 points from 6 players at the back, with Thiaw and Andersen not returning any points at all. I was hoping for DC points there so that bit is for sure disappointing. What made it worse is Saka getting injured in the warmup for a no show, which is forcing the FPL community into early moves, especially after Arsenal beat Chelsea in the Carabao cup and resultantly have a Double Gameweek in 26 vs Brentford and Wolves, both games away from home.
The transfer in of Enzo Fernandes did not matter as much with Gordon also scoring against Liverpool, but I am happier with the pick as Gordon has then gone on to pick a Hamstring injury against Manchester City in the semi final of the Carabao Cup last night.
A mere 52 points when the Safety score was 62 (according to LiveFPL), had me fall in the Overall ranks from 475k to 609k and I was prepared for it, especially when Saka got injured.

FPL GW25 Team Reveal
I have been forced into an early transfer (as per my playing style), after the DGW got confirmed for Arsenal, as well as the tweets emerging from Arsenal journalists on X that Saka is potentially aiming to be back for the North London derby, in which case he would be missing GW25 and DGW26. Missing a Double Gameweek was the last straw and I made the move before his fall in price on Thursday morning, and brought in Declan Rice. He is a boring pick for sure, but I feel he is still reliable in terms of minutes and I don’t particularly like an Arsenal attacker yet.
I am still not fully invested in Arsenal yet as I am looking to add a third player before the Double Gameweek, and I have no doubt in my mind it will be Timber. He has come very close to scoring attacking returns and I am fully aware that I as a non-owner have been riding my luck. There is a temptation to take a hit this week to get Timber in, but I feel the fixtures in my defence are fine enough to delay the move by 1 Gameweek and save the 4 points instead.
The team looks decent on paper this Gameweek and hopefully the defence brings in points this Gameweek, unlike the last. For captaincy, I am still looking at giving the armband to Bruno at home to Spurs, but I am yet to make that decision.
