Upcoming FPL Double & Blank Gameweeks
Potential Double Gameweek 26:
The midweek in GW26 is free for teams not in Europe or finishing in the top eight in the European leagues(UCL/UEL/UECL) as they receive a bye to the round of 16.

If Arsenal reach the Carabao Cup final, then their GW31 fixture vs Wolves has a chance of being moved to GW26, resulting in a likely double gameweek for Arsenal and Wolves.

- Arsenal: Brentford(A), Wolves(A)
- Wolves: Nottingham Forest(A), Wolves(H)
Arsenal are currently top of the Champions League table and are likely to finish in the top 8, so they’ll have a free midweek in GW26.
The Champions League group stage will conclude between GW23 and GW24, so we’ll for sure know the top eight teams in Europe before the GW24 deadline.
Note: The same is the case for Newcastle and Chelsea too, if they beat Man City & Arsenal respectively in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, their GW31 fixture will have to be postoponed but that cannot be preponed into GW26 because both teams are likely to be involved in the UCL knockouts. Chelsea are currently 12th & Newcastle are 13th in the UCL standings.
Crystal Palace are involved in the Conference League playoffs as they did not finish in the top eight, so if Man City beat Newcastle and reach the Carabao Cup final, they will surely blank in GW31 but cannot double in GW26.
Blank Gameweek 31(Sure Blank)

The Carabao Cup final is slotted for GW31, and this will cause two blank fixtures(four teams blanking)
Carabao Cup Semi-Finals:

The first leg of the semi-finals will happen between GW21 and GW22, and the second leg of the semi-finals will happen between GW24 and GW25.
- If Man City beat Newcastle, then Man City & Crystal Palace will blank in GW34
- If Newcastle beat Man City, then Newcastle & Sunderland will blank in GW34
- If Arsenal beat Chelsea, then Arsenal & Wolves will blank in GW34
- If Chelsea beat Arsenal, then Chelsea & Everton will blank in GW34
The teams blanking in GW31 will be known ahead of GW25 following the conclusion of the League Cup semi-final 2nd leg between GW24 and GW25.
Note: There’s a three-week gap between GW31 and GW32, with a bigger International break(2 weeks) and the FA Cup QFs happening in those three weeks.
Why is there no big blank gameweek this season?
This season, the Premier League will not clash with the FA Cup Quarterfinals, which means the traditionally big blank gameweek will not happen.
Premier League fixtures will still clash with the FA Cup semi-finals in GW34. The exact number of teams blanking will depend on the FA Cup results.
Double Gameweek 33(Most likely)

The potential blanks from GW31(If not preponed into GW26) and some blanks from GW34 will be scheduled in GW33, making it a double gameweek.
Blank Gameweek 34(Sure blank)

Premier League fixtures will still clash with the FA Cup semi-finals in GW34. The exact number of teams blanking will depend on the FA Cup results.
If a club & their GW34 are both knocked out of the FA Cup, then both teams will not blank in GW34.
FA Cup Schedule:
- Fourth Round: Saturday 14 February 2026(Between GW26 & GW27)
- Fifth Round: Saturday 7 March 2026(Between GW29 & GW30)
- Quarter Final: Saturday 4 April 2026 (Between GW31 and GW32)
- Semi-Final: Saturday 25 April 2026 (Clashes with GW34 resulting in a blank gameweek)
- The Final: Saturday 16 May 2026 (During GW37 weekend, could result in a blank)
FA Cup Fourth Round Draw(Round of 32):

- PL Team out of FA Cup already: Man United, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Everton, Spurs, and Crystal Palace
Double Gameweek 36(Likely)

The last double gameweek of the season will be in GW36, with some of the teams blanking in GW34 doubling in GW36(If they don’t double in GW33)
Blank Gameweek 37(Possible):
The UEL final is scheduled between GW37 and GW38, so if Aston Villa reach the UEL final and if the Villans or their GW37 opponents(Liverpool) reach the FA Cup final, then their fixture will have to be moved from GW37, resulting in a blank.
Nottingham Forest are also involved in UEL, but they have been knocked out of the FA Cup, and so have their GW37 opponent, Man United, so they cannot blank in GW37.
Summary of upcoming FPL Double/Blank Gameweeks:
- DGW26: Potential small double gameweek based on Carabao Cup semi-final results
- BGW31: Four teams will blank as it clashes with the Carabao Cup finals
- DGW33: Double gameweek that will have postponements from GW31 and some from GW34
- BGW34: This gameweek clashes with the FA Cup Semi-finals & the teams reaching the SFs & their GW34 opponent will blank in GW34
- DGW36: Teams blanking in GW34 will then double in GW36(Provided the fixtures are not preponed into GW33)
Key Dates:
- Before the GW24 deadline, we’ll know the top eight in UCL/UEL/UECL(Those teams will have a free midweek in GW26, which will be handy for preponements/double gameweeks if needed)
- Before the GW25 deadline, we’ll know the teams blanking in GW31 & the Carabao Cup finalists
- Before the GW32 deadline, we’ll know the teams blanking in GW34 & the FA Cup semifinalists
