Top FPL GW20 Differential Picks

Jarrod Bowen – West Ham United – £7.6 Forward – 7.9 % TSB

FPL GW20 Differential Picks- Bowen
  • West Ham will know that a win against Wolves is a must as they try to avoid the drop. Targeting Wolves has been a well-used tactic this season. Wolves are ranked in the Bottom 5 for all defensive metrics and have conceded the most goals in the League (40) so far this season. They are yet to win a single Game or keep a Clean sheet this season. They are winless and destined to be relegated.
  • Bowen has got 6 Goals, 2 Assists, and 84 Points this season, which makes him the 3rd Highest scoring forward this season. He is West Ham’s talisman, plays close to 90 minutes every game, and is a Bonus Point Magnet, whenever he gets attacking returns. His stats also make for good reading with 20 Shots on Target, 36 Shots in the Box, and 7 Big Chances. He has also played 13 key passes for his teammates. With this match being a 6-pointer, Bowen would like to rise to the occasion and earn the full points for West Ham.

Key Stat: In the 6 games where Bowen has scored this season, he has gotten 16 Bonus points out of a maximum of 18 Bonus Points.

Jan Paul Van Hecke  – Brighton – £4.5 Defender – 4.3 % TSB

FPL GW20 Differential Picks- Van Hecke
  • Van Hecke faces a Burnley team that is ranked in the Bottom 3 for all attacking metrics such as Shots, Shots on Target, Shots in the Box, Non-Penalty xG, xG, and Goals scored. Burnley have also conceded the 2nd most attempts from Headed chance,s and this could mean a chance of a Clean Sheet and an attacking return in the same game.
  • Speaking of attacking returns, Van Hecke has scored the most Goals among Defenders this season (3), and he has been unlucky not to score more. He has had 7 Shots on the Target and all of these have been in the box. He even has an Assist to his name. He also has got Defcon points 7 times this season and averages 8.17 Defcons per 90 minutes.

Ollie Watkins – Aston Villa – £8.6 Forward – 8.1 % TSB

  • Watkins has been slowly getting back to form with 5 Goals and 2 Assists in the last 6 Gameweeks. He has blanked only once in that time. His stats have been improving with 15 Shots on Target and 36 Shots in the Box. He has underperformed quite a lot with an xG generated of 7.19. He has got 13 Big Chances and has missed half of them.
  • Villa now embark on a solid run of fixtures where they do not face any of last season’s Top 4 teams until Gameweek 29. They face a Forest team that has been improving, but have still conceded 30 Goals (6th worst) this season. Villa also tend to perform much better at home and would like to get over their loss to Arsenal with a solid victory this Gameweek. Watkins is a confidence player who tends to do well when he is on a hot streak. Get him in early, and hopefully, he can repay you with some more returns over this run of fixtures.

James Tarkowski – Everton  – £5.6 Defender – 9.4 % TSB

FPL GW20 Differential Picks- Tarkowski
  • Tarkowski is the definition of Predictability. He is5th place among Defenders for FPL Points, with only 3 points separating him from Gabriel (who is at the Top of the standings). Part of this has been due to his knack for picking up Defcon consistently. He averages 10.89 Defensive Contributions per 90 minutes and has earned the 2nd most Defensive contributions among Defenders so far this season (207). He has earned the additional 2 points 13 times already this season.
  • Everton have kept 8 Clean Sheets this season, only 1 behind Arsenal & Manchester City. With 3 games coming up at home against Brentford and Leeds, who struggle away from home, low-scoring Wolves, this could be the perfect entry point for Tarko, especially with the doubts surrounding Keane. He only has an Assist to his name so far this season, but has been unlucky not to score so far this season. He has got 3 Big Chances, had 2 Shots on Target, so a bullet header could be coming up soon.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Leeds United – £5.9 Forward – 9.9 % TSB

FPL GW20 Differential Picks- Calvert Lewin
  • 7 Goals in the last 7 Gameweeks and a brilliant run of goalscoring form since Gameweek 13. Over that time, DCL tops the xG rankings among all players in the League. Over that time, he is 2nd for Big Chances (8) in the League. He should be good to start this Gameweek after getting benched midweek against Liverpool and playing only 20 minutes. But even in these 20 minutes, he almost scored as his goal was ruled out for offside.

Key Stat- Calvert Lewin:

Erling Haaland. Semenyo. Thiago. Only 3 Players have scored more goals than Calvert Lewin this season.⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ in the last six starts for DCL

  • DCL now plays a Manchester United team which is ravaged by injuries and missing influential players like De Ligt, Maguire, Bruno, Mbeumo & Amad. Manchester United leak a lot of goals and Big Chances and have only kept 2 Clean Sheets this season. They have conceded 29 Goals (7th most in the League) and have conceded 45 Big Chances (5th most in the League).
  • Manchester United also rank in the Bottom 6 for attempts conceded from set pieces and Headed attempts. We all know DCL’s Aerial threat and strengths on set pieces. With United going out to get a win this Gameweek, they will be vulnerable to conceding a few, like they have been doing all season.

Diego Gomez – Brighton – £4.9 Midfielder –  0.2 % TSB

FPL GW20 Differential Picks- Deigo Gomez
  • Gomez has slowly established himself in the starting eleven for Brighton with 10 starts in the last 11 Gameweeks. Over that time, he has scored3 Goals and posted impressive stats. He has had 11 Shots on Target, 14 Shots in the Box, and 7 Big Chances. He has already shown his explosive nature after scoring a brace against Leeds and scoring 4 Goals in an EFL Cup game.
  • Burnley are ranked as the Bottom team for most Defensive metrics, such as non-penalty xGC, xGC, Shots on Target conceded, Shots conceded, and the 2nd Bottom team for Shots in the Box conceded, and Big Chances conceded. They have also conceded the 3rd most Goals in the League and are there for the taking if Brighton go all out attack this Gameweek.

That’s it for Gameweek 20. We will be back with 6 More Differentials next Gameweek, where we will be hoping to get some positive returns from our current selected Differentials for Gameweek 20.
