That makes it 44/108 Picks who have returned FPL Points from our picks this Season.

Top FPL GW19 Differential Picks

Anthony Gordon – Newcastle United – £7.4 Midfielder – 4.5 % TSB

Top FPL GW19 Differential Picks- Gordon
  • Gordon has started to trickle attacking returns over the last few Gameweeks. He has 2 Goals, 2 Assists, and 29 Points over the last 5 Gameweeks. This includes 2 Double Digit returns. Newcastle have a brilliant run of fixtures over the next 4 Gameweeks, where they face the bottom 2 teams away from home (Burnley and Wolves) and face an injury-ravaged Palace side and Leeds at home.

Gordon Stats(Attack rank among Midfielders) since his return from injury in GW14:

  • Minutes- 319
  • Big Chances- 5 (2nd)
  • xG- 2.76 (2nd)
  • xGI- 4.0 (1st)
  • xA- 1.27 (7th)
  • Gordon actually played 90 minutes after a long time last Gameweek. Part of that could be due to Elanga’s injury, which means 1 less rotation option for Eddie Howe. Murphy & Barnes could share minutes on the other wing. Add to the fact that Gordon is on penalties. Gordon has also underperformed his stats this season. He only has 2 Goals from an xG of 4.08. He has got 8 Big Chances and had 9 Shots on Target and 15 Shots in the Box. Over this good fixture run, expect him to start making up for those missed chances.
  • Burnley are top for Shots conceded, Non Penalty xGC, and xGC. They have also conceded the 2nd most Shots on Target, Shots in the Box, and Big Chances. They have shipped the 3rd most Goals in the League (34). Gordon flourished in the reverse fixture this season as he scored a Goal and got 10 Points. More of the same could follow this Gameweek as well.

Lewis Hall  – Newcastle United – £5.2 Defender – 1.5 % TSB

Top FPL GW19 Differential Picks- Lewis Hall
  • Newcastle have a brilliant run of fixtures over the next 4 Gameweeks, where they face the bottom 2 teams away from home (Burnley and Wolves) and face an injury-ravaged Palace side and Leeds at home. Wolves & Burnley are ranked in the Bottom 3 for all attacking metrics. Palace seem to be struggling to create chances and score goals in the absence of Munoz & Sarr, while Leeds usually are poor away from home.
  • Add to the fact that Newcastle have conceded only the 2nd fewest Big Chances in the League (28), the 3rd least amount of xG  (20.44), and the 4th least amount on Non Penalty xG (19). They have only kept 5 clean sheets,s which shows they have been a bit unlucky not to have got more. Over the next few Gameweeks, they will have the opportunity to change these stats in their favor.
  • Lewis Hall has already picked up an Assist after his return from injury and has actually played 90 minutes in 5 of the last 6 Gameweeks. With Livramento, Trippier, and Burn already injured, Howe may have no option to rotate him in the next few Gameweeks. Hall has already had a Shot on Target, 3 Shots in the Box, and 1 Big Chance. He has supplied 5 Key passes for his teammates and created 2 Big Chances. He could have scored against Manchester United had his shot not hit the post. Also, he is one of those rare full-backs who gets good Defensive contributions. He averages 8.38 Defensive contributions per 90 and has earned the additional 2 points thrice this season (twice in the last 3 Gameweeks)
  • Hall has 8 shots over the last 6 Matches which is the 2nd Highest among Defenders. He also has 3 Big Chance Involvements during this run- 1 Big chance and 2 Big Chances created.

Key Stat(via Tom Hadley FPL): Left Backs have an average Defensive Contribution of 11.2 vs Burnley in the last six games(67% hit rate).

Yankuba Minteh – Brighton – £6.0 Midfielder – 6.3 % TSB

Top FPL GW19 Differential Picks- Minteh
  • A benching against Arsenal, yet we are putting up Minteh’s name as a Differential. The reason?? Minteh will face the 2 teams who are at the bottom for all Defensive metrics and are really struggling this season. West Ham & Burnley have conceded the 2nd and 3rd most Goals in the League too.
  • Minteh has scored only a Goal so far, but he does have 7 Assists this season. He has had 6 Shots on Target, 24 Shots in the Box, and been presented with 6 Big Chances.
  • He has also played 28 key passes and created 6 Big Chances for his teammates. With his benching out of the way and him looking really bright after coming on against Arsenal and nearly scoring a great goal, he should look to start these next 2 Games.

Dominik Szoboszlai – Liverpool – £6.6 Midfielder – 4.4 % TSB

Top FPL GW19 Differential Picks- Szoboszlai
  • Szoboszlai now returns after serving his 1 match suspension. That also gives him his rest & that should make him nailed to start the next 3 Games in the Festive period. He has been the most consistent Liverpool midfielder this season, having started all the games this season and only getting subbed off for 8 mins so far this season. Taking corners, getting Defcon points sometimes (4 times this season), and most importantly, having penalties until Salah returns from AFCON, he seems a great budget option at only 6.6 million.
  • His stats have also been improving as he has been playing much higher up the pitch in the last few Gameweeks. He has scored 2 Goals and had 11 Shots on Target, 8 Shots in the Box and been presented with 3 Big Chances. Creativity-wise, he has created 3 Big Chances and played 31 key passes. Yet he has underperformed his stats with only 1 Assist from nearly 2.5 xA.

Patrick Dorgu – Manchester United – £4.1 Defender – 3.8 % TSB

Top FPL GW19 Differential Picks- Dorgu
  • Dorgu got his 1st Goal for United last Gameweek. This goal was his 2nd attacking return in the space of 2 Gameweeks as he got an Assist against Villa in Gameweek 17. Also, we have seen him complete 2 successive 90-minute games, which has coincided with Amad leaving for AFCON. He even got Defcon in the last game and was just 1 Defensive Contribution shy of getting the additional points in the game against Villa. He could have scored another against Newcastle as he relished playing OOP as a Right Winger.
  • United kept their 2nd Clean Sheet of the season and could keep a couple more in the next 3 Gameweeks when they face Wolves, Leeds, and Burnley. Wolves and Burnley are bottom for all attacking metrics. Wolves only got to 10 Goals scored this season in Gameweek 18 and are still winless, having only drawn 2 Games. United could smell blood in this fixture, and perhaps there could be more joy for Dorgu in this fixture as well.

Ultra Differential Pick for FPL GW19 (Under 1 % Ownership)

John Victor – Nottingham Forest – £4.0 Goalkeeper – 0.4 % TSB

Top FPL GW19 Differential Picks- John Victor
  • John has now started the last 3 Gameweeks for Forest and has performed admirably. Going for him could be a high risk worth taking, if he cements his place in the Forest first 11. Also, Dubravka is a handy backup option for all our teams in case John loses his place.
  • Since Dyche took over (from Gameweek 9), Forest have improved defensively. They are ranked the 7th best for Shots in the Box conceded, 6th best for Shots on Target conceded. Also, they have conceded the fewest Big Chances (11) over this period. They are 2nd best for xGC conceded and 3rd best for Non Penalty xGC. All these stats show the impressive work Dyche has done to turn the Defensive numbers. If we get a 4.0 nailed Goalkeeper under Dyche, with these stats, he could be a cheat code for our FPL teams.

That’s it for Gameweek 19. We will be back with 6 More Differentials next Gameweek, where we will be hoping to get some positive returns from our current selected Differentials for Gameweek 19.
