Top FPL Gameweek 17 Captain Picks Based on Analysis & Metrics

Welcome to the FPL Gameweek 17 Captaincy metrics blog. Haaland, who topped the captaincy metrics last week, outscored Saka, who was the most popular captain choice last week. This week, Haaland & Foden will face West Ham at home. Semenyo, who scored a goal at Old Trafford in GW16, will be facing Burnley at home. Let’s see who comes out on top of the captaincy metrics.

This season, we have an 10/16 returns record. Last season, the metrics finished with 686 pts(26/38 returns), the metrics had a “26/38 returns record” in the 23/24 season, 31/37 “returns record” in the 22/23 season, and “30/38 returns record” in the 21/22 season. Total metrics points: 14 + 4 + 18 + 26 + 10 + 32 + 16 + 26 + 4 + 26 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 28 + 4 + 26 = 246 points

Note: “Returns” ~ player topping the metrics getting points returns and not necessarily the highest scoring option of the week.

“I don’t know yet, is the honest answer, on exactly how they are. They’ve been with medics today, and we’ll see how they are going into the game on Saturday.”
