Gameweek 19 isn’t just another deadline — it’s the deadline. This is your final opportunity to use any remaining chips; carry them beyond this Gameweek and they’re gone. No rollover. No mercy. And just as you’re grappling with that reality, the festive fixture conveyor belt shifts into overdrive. Between 27 December and 7 January, we’re staring at four Gameweek deadlines crammed into just 12 chaotic days. This is the stretch where ranks are built — or quietly dismantled — by missed deadlines, rushed transfers, and sleepy team selections. Set alarms. Recheck kick-off times. Assume nothing. Christmas FPL doesn’t forgive complacency.
With matches coming every 48–72 hours, rotation is no longer a possibility — it’s a certainty. Even the most “nailed” assets will see managed minutes, surprise benchings, or late omissions. This is where a strong bench stops being a luxury and starts acting like insurance. A playing third sub can — and often will — outscore a rested premium. Keep flexibility, avoid dead-ending your squad, and spread funds smartly. On the injury front, a small but encouraging update: Gabriel Magalhães came on as sub in GW18, suggesting his full return isn’t too far away — one to monitor closely as defensive stability becomes valuable again in the new year. Festive chaos is here. Plan smart, stay alert, and let others miss deadlines.

FPL GW19 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY
PS – I am assuming everyone has Haaland in their teams. If not, he is your priority buy
Anthony Gordon (£7.4m) – MID, Newcastle – 4.0% TSB

If you’re still searching for a Bruno Fernandes replacement, look no further than Anthony Gordon. Newcastle’s upcoming run is tailor-made for attacking returns: Burnley, Leeds, and Wolves feature heavily in the next few Gameweeks. Gordon is firmly embedded in Newcastle’s attack, on penalties, and delivering consistently — four goal involvements in his last five GWs.
Top Midfielders for Expected Goal Involvement since GW14:
- Gordon- 4.0
- Fernandes- 3.6
- Schade- 3.6
- Cunha- 3.5
- Cherki- 3.2
- Saka- 3.0
Burnley, his immediate opponent, already felt the damage earlier this season when Gordon returned 10 points in the reverse fixture. With pace, directness, and increasing responsibility in the final third, Gordon offers both form and fixtures — the holy grail during the festive period.
Matheus Cunha (£8.0m) – MID, Man Utd – 8.6% TSB

Sometimes FPL makes things refreshingly simple — and Cunha’s upcoming fixtures are exactly that. Wolves, Leeds, and Burnley in the next three doesn’t get much better for a mid-priced forward. With Bruno Fernandes and Mbeumo unavailable, Cunha has stepped up as first-choice penalty taker, immediately boosting his appeal.
📈🔥Cunha Stats & Attack Rank among Midfielders over the last 4 Gameweeks:
- Shots- 25 (1st)
- Shots on Target- 9 (1st)
- Shots inside the box- 14 (1st)
- Big Chances- 4 (2nd)
- xG- 2.49 (2nd)
- xGI- 3.2 (2nd)
He’s quietly ticking along with three goal involvements in his last four GWs, and he’s already shown he can deliver against Wolves, registering an assist in the last league meeting. In a season where reliable attackers are scarce, Cunha offers minutes, penalties, and prime fixtures — a combination that’s hard to ignore.
FPL GW19 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD
Yankuba Minteh (£6.0m) – MID, Brighton – 6.3% TSB

Once an FPL darling, Minteh has endured a brutal run of sales, dropping in price thrice in 4 Gameweeks — such is the impatience of FPL managers. But if you’ve held him this long, now is not the time to jump ship. Brighton face West Ham and Burnley, two of the league’s most obliging defences, and Minteh’s underlying threat hasn’t disappeared overnight.
| xGC Rank of Opponent | Goals Conceded Rank of Opponent | Big Chances Conceded Rank of Opponent | |
| GW19 vs West Ham(A) | 19th | 19th | 20th |
| GW20 vs Burnley(H) | 20th | 18th | 19th |
That said, this isn’t a buying opportunity either. He sits squarely in that classic FPL grey zone: don’t buy, don’t sell. If he’s already in your squad, bench strength permitting, give him these fixtures before reassessing.
Bruno Guimarães (£7.0m) – MID, Newcastle – 13.8% TSB

Bruno Guimarães being the one of the most transferred-out unflagged midfielder says more about FPL herd mentality than it does about his actual prospects. Newcastle face Burnley next — the same opponent Bruno punished for a 10-pointer in the reverse fixture — followed by Leeds and Wolves shortly after.
Yes, his returns haven’t exploded recently, but his role, minutes, and fixture profile remain intact. Selling him now, just as Newcastle enter a favourable run, feels like classic short-term thinking. If you own Bruno, this is a hold-your-nerve moment rather than a panic sale.
FPL GW19 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL
Marcos Senesi (£4.9m) – DEF, Bournemouth – 16.7% TSB
Senesi’s numbers paint a bleak picture. Bournemouth have managed just two clean sheets since GW6, with only Burnley and Wolves conceding more goals in that period. And if the recent past wasn’t worrying enough, the future is worse: Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, and Liverpool all feature in the next five Gameweeks.
Next up is Chelsea(A) for Bournemouth and their defensive numbers away from home are really poor.
Bournemouth Defense Rank(Away from Home):
- xGC- 19th
- Bog Chances Conceded- 19th
- Goals Conceded- 20th
At this point, Senesi offers neither defensive security nor attacking upside. With better budget defenders available — and clean sheets at a premium — this is the right moment to cash out.
Dan Burn (£5.1m) – DEF, Newcastle – 4.8% TSB
There’s a reason Dan Burn is currently one of the most transferred-out defenders this week. Since GW6, Newcastle have kept just one clean sheet, with only Leeds, West Ham, and Wolves faring worse defensively. To compound matters, Burn is sidelined with a broken rib and punctured lung and isn’t expected back until around 18 January.
By the time he returns, Newcastle’s favourable run will be over. From mid-January, they face a brutal stretch including Aston Villa, Liverpool, Spurs, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea across eight Gameweeks. Holding Burn through injury and fixture swings offers little upside — this is a clear sell and move-on moment.
